    2024 CBs and Safeties Thread

How big is the need in the secondary?

CB: JPJr, Donte Jackson, Darius Rush, Cory Trice, Luq Barcoo

Safety: Minkah, Killebrew, Elliott, Kazee, Thompson

There are some really promising prospects in this year's draft. I don't want to just start listing guys. I would rather see who you guys would like to see the Steelers draft and in which round.

    2024 CBs and Safeties Thread

The one problem with drafting CB is that the guys you have listed that are currently on the roster, they aren’t experienced in playing the Slot from what I’ve read and heard. Jackson has never done it so he’s probably your outside guy opposite JPJ or maybe Trice takes that job. Regardless, the other one has not played slot. If I’m drafting a guy, I’m taking Cooper Dejean. He can play outside and has slot experience so he kinda checks all the boxes and is versatile. And for whatever reason, his stick seems to be falling. He can return kicks as well.

Mike Sainristil is a good slot option as well.

If we take a CB in the first round, I am all in on Kool-Aid McKinstry. Plays all over the secondary. Plus, I here he’ll run through walls.

McKinstry plays outside or slot. He spent time at Safety.

I just want to draft him to see Kool Aid on his jersey

gotta hope he turns out better than Greedy Williams ( whom I thought had a really cool name for a CB)

Top 32 prospects, DBs edition according to:

    PFF:
    1. Cooper DeJean CB
    2. Quinyon Mitchell CB
    3. Nate Wiggins CB
    4. Terrion Arnold CB
    5. Tyler Nubin Safety

    Daniel Jeremiah:
    1. Terrion Arnold CB
    2. Quinyon Mitchell CB
    3. Ennis Rakestraw CB
    4. Cooper DeJean CB
    5. Nate Wiggins CB

    Fox Sports:
    1. Nate Wiggins CB
    2. Terrion Arnold CB
    3. Quinyon Mitchell CB
    4. Cooper DeJean DB
    5. Kool-Aid McKinstry CB

    Sporting News:
    1. Nate Wiggins CB
    2. Cooper DeJean CB
    3. Kool-Aid McKinstry CB
    4. Terrion Arnold CB
    5. Quinyon Mitchell CB

    Pro Football Network:
    1. Terrion Arnold CB
    2. Quinyon Mitchell CB
    3. Kool-Aid McKinstry CB
    4. Cooper DeJean DB
    5. Nate Wiggins CB
    6. Tyler Nubin Safety

    NFLDraftBuzz:
    1. Terrion Arnold CB
    2. Quinyon Mitchell CB
    3. Nate Wiggins CB
    4. Kool-Aid McKinstry CB
    5. Cooper DeJean CB

These are all ranked in the top 32 by the scouting site. Just weird how it ended up mostly top5 list as well. Although no sites seem to agree on the order, they do seem to agree on the names. For the most part anyway. If drafting a CB in the 1st round it will probably be one of these guys. If waiting until 51 to take a DB, it will probably NOT be one of these guys.

Yup, I think the Steelers had a good look at him at Michigan Pro Day. He will be coveted by a lot of teams that are looking for a slot CB on day 2.

For me its Quinion Mitchell if he is there in the first round. Gonna be a pro bowler IMO, but I think he will get drafted in the first 15 picks.
