problem with a deebo kind of player is the allure is the fact they can do so much , however doing so much puts them in harms way with guys nearly twice their size and that leads to unnecessary punishment and consequently the human body breaking down .... injury makes you unavailable and the greatest asset is being available
    All good points.

All I can hope is that Smith is clearly communicating what he needs to make whatever is in his head work.

Then identify tiers of guys thriughtout the draft that can execute whatever that is.

For instance, despite the fact that I remain higher on Diontae Johnson than many, I do think he was a poor fit for what we can guess is Smith's "system". He was slighter, not a physical blocker, and not seemingly a fan of reduced touches.

Smith seems to like playing big physical wideouts but not funneling them huge amounts of targets.

Well, last year our receivers won due to physicality and being better. Nothing schematically. Smith uses more misdirection and design. Also, it’s a spread that utilizes lots of short routes and timing. I think Freiermuth, Connor Heyward, and the backs will be way more involved. So we have Pickens, Ca3, Van Jefferson all getting roster spots. Mims is a wildcard and the rest are all questionable. Plus a draft pick. We probably only keep 5 receivers.

I’m thinking it’s Josh Reynolds and a draft pick after all is said and done. I think they are looking for something big but if they cant work something out and can get Reynolds on 2 for 10-12M, I think they will.

I haven't seen a Steelers WR take a hit across the middle like Austin since the bounty on Lynn Swann.

At this stage, it seems like the WR room is kinda working. If Austin can’t play, I would consider that and then figure it out later.

Yeah. Just thought it would be kinda amusing.

I would like to see Scotty Miller move on....but as we all have been talking about it seems these in season WR additions are just totally unable to get up to speed.

Yeah. There’s not much that wouldn’t be an upgrade over Miller…
