He led us to a respectable 9-8 finish despite a 2-6 start and being benched for the first half of the year as a rookie while playing in a terrible offense. He led us to 7-4 while playing in that same terrible offense. He had our first 400 yard game on Offense after Canada was fired. It wasn't Kenny's (Or Mason's fault) that the Defense performed below level yet again, and especially in the playoffs again.

Sadly, what they accomplished despite the odds wasn't worth another look in the eyes of the organization.

Russ better have an MVP campaign in 2024. That's the only way this doesn't cause remorse or regret.

Wilson(or if this is Fields) will not need to be in the MVP race to gave the steelers reason to gave up on Kenny if he can't win the backup job in Philly....No excuse for Kenny if he can't win the backup job with the steelers....Maybe this is because he is still in Tomlins doghouse!

he was for the steelers taking Howell in the 1st or 2nd round if i remember. Well Howell and Pickett are now backups, no. 2 or still competing for no. 2 doesn't really matter.

Okay I’ll dummy it down for you. You’ve mentioned Rudy was held back by Tomlin and was in his doghouse. If Rudy somehow was a starter or franchise QB maybe your argument could’ve been valid. But we all know he’s not. He’s a capable backup and earned a raise for 2024. Great for him. I’m wondering how Tomlin and per your statement all other teams were wrong about Rudy and you were right. They all knew he was a backup, he was and still is. So what were you right about and they were wrong? It sure implies you view him more than backup.

Speaking of dummying down, I see now that I'm going to have to dummy down the answer for you. OK. You guys made this big deal about how no other team signed Rudy. If they thought he was a good or even capable backup, some team would have signed him. The fact they didn't sign him means that they didn't think he was even a capable backup, much less a good one. But then last year Rudy got his chance, turned the Steelers season around, and got them into the playoffs, thus proving that he was not only a capable backup but actually a good one. Which means all the people in the NFL (and some on this board) who thought he was not even a capable backup were wrong. I don't see why this is so hard for you to understand. Oh, that's right, it involves basic logic, which apparently a lot of people here are very short on.

Reading the article, one thing stood out.

KP’s early spring successes were built on back shoulder sideline throws. Then adjustments were made and he has not continued his success.

That doesn’t sound familiar at all. Nope.

I don't think good teams care about protecting the ego of a 2nd string QB. And their investment was pretty light.

McKee wasn’t undrafted. The Eagles took him in the late rounds and if I recall correctly, he had a very good preseason last year. I don’t think anyone in Philadelphia was thinking he was a slouch by any means.
