This cracks me up. Let’s look back…..after Bradshaw, Noll couldn’t evaluate QBs worth a shit! Before Ben, Cowher couldn’t evaluate QBs worth a shit…..and Cowher basically had Ben forced on him. All six of our SBs were won with two QBs. Only one other QB even made it to the Super Bowl. Just saying. I hope KP does well. I’m just sorry that lack of an OC worth a damn, and lack of a solid OL didn’t give us a realistic look at what his ceiling could be.
no real danger of him flourishing , he will sit the bench in Philly as he should ... he has 2 years there this one and next and he will be on to his next destination because they are not gonna extend the 5th year on him by then he will be 28-29 years old and on his 3rd team

all those other guys your alluding to weren't first round picks (except Malone, he was bottom of the first). It’s basically Terry, Ben, and KP. And, I agree with you, we unfortunately didn’t finish our evaluation on Kenny. Choosing Canada as our OC did a lot to screw that up. If Wilson plays lights out at least for a year maybe that’ll make up for letting KP go. Maybe the Steelers know something about him that we didnt get to see (Attitude, poor work ethic?). Guess we’ll see.

The Iggles primary interest in KP was his cap number.
They just got one of the cheapest backup QBs in the league.

Well, between McKee and Grier I think Kenny has an uphill battle. Grier a vet who will easily pick up the system and McKee a physically gifted QB who has a year in this system under his belt. Neither are huge obstacles for a true first round quality player but I’m not sure anyone would say Kenny was that.
It’s gotten to the point where the Pickett haters and lovers are now debating his Eagles career…

I watched him at WVU and live in Carolina so I’m familiar with the disappointment locally when he didn’t live up to expectations.

But the Iggles paid Mariotta like $4.5 million to play back-up QB for them. They push the cap every year as they are trying to win a SB.
Being able to have KP count for about 1/3 of that back-up QB cap number was likely more highly appealing than the specific player.
For instance, Drew Lock is hitting the NYG cap for $6 million in 2024. Jameis Winston is costing the Browns $4 million.
$1.9 million for KP is likely what the Eagles were most attracted to when the traded for him.

Cap math drove this deal. I suspect that the Eagles were in on Desmond Ridder as well. I also suspect that they sniffed around on Howell as well.
Ive nebbed around on some Eagle sites. It look's like a mojority of their fans like the deal they got for Kenny.

yeah, ranges from solid backup to future trade bait. I assume most Steelers games are broadcast in Philly so some of these forum members have actually seen KP play.
