Still a homerun hire for the chargers....He has won in every place he has been as head coach, college or NFL...The chargers were very weak at the head coach position since they fired Marty
Chargers got it right.
I’m gonna bet sanctions are incoming.
Looks like the Chargers' window to win "multiple, multiple championships" is 3-4 years, since that's usually how long this guy lasts before everyone else involved hates him and wants him gone as he's an insufferable prick.![]()
Yes, but…..most great head football coaches are insufferable pricks. Growing up I thought it was a pre-requisite for being a coach of any kind.
Jim Harbaugh is a good coach. He just joined an organization with an under-achieving defense(my opinion), and an offense he can work with and build up quickly. The infuriating thing to me is he cheated his way to a college championship, so now he gets rewarded with this job. Meanwhile, the NCAA will derail the career of his replacement at Michigan.
I would have been in favor of bringing him here.

I actually think that unless he wins something big right away....he's going to struggle. The "insufferable prick" style of coaching is harder and harder to pull off with players these days. At least in the pros, they are realizing they don't have to put up with it. Look at the Raiders over the past year. Now, if Harbaugh puts them atop the division....that changes things.
I think that Harbaugh is going to have a tougher sled at this than anyone thinks.
Even that won't work (at least long-term), for the exact reasons you stated. Despite 3 NFCCG appearances, a Super Bowl appearance and an NFC championship, the 49ers locker room was still near mutiny by his 4th season there.
And that was a decade ago. NFL players in general certainly haven't become more receptive to the old school Vince Lombardi "fire and brimstone" method of coaching in the meantime. College kids pretty much have to put up with it. NFL players, not so much.
The only reason he's making the jump back to the NFL is to escape NCAA sanctions, the same way Pete Carroll did.
I won't be the least bit surprised if he falls flat on his face. And if karma is a thing, he will.
I said he’d win fast and he’d win big. I didn’t say he’d win long! Lol
and here i thought the NFL had its last chance at Hiring him a year or two ago ( according to HIS words )
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
Michigan fan here. I don't think the sanctions are going to come down quite like non Michigan fans think. Something is bound to happen, but i get the feeling based on what I see or don't see in the media that it may not be as harsh as you think. He's been een wanting to jump back into the NFL for a while, despite what he's said in the past. If anything, I think the team was built to win now and Coach Moore will have a harder time winning than he thinks. Hard to replace the amount of talent that left Michigan....even through all the NIL garbage.
