The only "startling" QB on that list is Baker.

They are the 4 QBs left in the AFC and the steelers are in the AFC.....The QB position in the AFC is loaded like crazy and this is almost impossible to just win a playoffs game in the AFC without a true franchise QB who can overcome some hole in your roster
The steelers need a true franchise QB otherwise the margin of error will always be slim to none for the steelers
Last year,It was Burrow,Mahomes,Allen and Lawrence in the second round of the playoffs....the first 3 of those are true franchise QB.In 2021,it was Burrow,Mahomes,Allen again with Tannehill which was horrible but the other 3 are true elite QBs
They are all in the NFC.
As PB pointed out the list of QBs in the AFC is a very different thing.
Further, Purdy and Goff are backed by elite play-callers. And I think Love is potentially going to join the list of big-time QBs next year. He made a few throws in the Dallas game that were kinda hard to believe. Two of them without his feet on the ground.
So really....Baker. And we already have Baker. We have two of them.
I think that if you get a phenomenal play caller/designer....you can do a lot with a "lesser" QB. However...that seems to be not the case in the AFC. I mean Tua got pantsed on national TV. So who knows?
Love could be Aaron Rodgers 2.0, that was a Rodgers move. I don’t know why GB has all the luck with qb’s. First Favre, then Rodgers, now Love
Much the same situation during Ben's career with Brady and Manning.
If we had been stuck with Mark Sanchez or even a Carson Palmer, would we have won two Superbowls? Not likely.
I feel that's where we are right now, except that Pickett might be worse than Mark Sanchez.

From 2003 until 2018 it was Manning,Ben or Brady in the super bowl for the AFC in 15 of those years with Flacco once in 2012 when he had a all-time playoffs run....Since 2019,this is Mahomes 3 times and Burrow once in between...No matter who will be in this year, their QB will be a major reason why

Maybe luck but at the same time they deserve credit to develop them very well....It wasn't a sure thing that Favre, Rodgers and Love were going to become special...I still believe Favre would been much better in the 2000s if Holmgren would stay or it would been Andy Reid their head coach(who was in their staff in the Holmgren era) instead of Ray Rhodes and Mike Sherman after that
I'd take all of them over Pickett, but I'd like to have their OCs too

You mean I can't ignore your point, which you previously made. I'm not ignoring either, I just don't disagree with your point. I'm quite aware those are NFC QBs. How could I not be. It's obvious. Nevertheless, the list stands out as lacking the Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady's of the world.
But whether you like it or not, I'm still questioning the notion that we already have two Baker Mayfield's on the team. The play caller part is TBD.
I hope it ends up with Baker Mayfield vs Josh Allen in the SuperBowl and we see a record 10INTs. Only scores come from either a pick6 or a FG.
Let's not get crazy about Love's performance yet. I mean in that game he had receivers so wide open there was NO one from the other team even on the TV screen when they caught it and in two accusations the receiver had to actually stop, wait for the ball, adjust their route and catch it.
Not taking anything from Love, but a lot of his greatness was on how BAD and lost Dallas's defense looked in that game. Now if he can do it this week against San Francisco's defense then I'll be willing to mention him with Farve and Rodgers.
I was just simply implying that he has the same tendencies as Favre and Rodgers. He's a talented kid but in no way the level they were at, not yet anyway. But if he lights up San Fran then he's well on his way.

I am not sure about those guys either. I have been impressed with the 49ers offense, but Purdy has been meh to me. Let's wait until we have a full season's film on Love, although he looks pretty good so far. The Lions have to do it to prove it. Not really a Goff issue with me as much as it's the Lions. I don't currently want any of those 3 QBs for the Steelers.
I am a bit shocked that more fans aren't fans of Baker Mayfield. The guy has been a pure football player his entire career. He's thrown for over 20k yards in roughly 5 and 1/2 to 6 seasons with 130TDs. His downside to me has been turnovers, which are huge. Too many turnovers. But when you watch him those turnovers usually come from trying to make football plays, scrambling and/or throwing hero balls. I think Baker Mayfield is the ultimate backup QB. I'd love to have him backing up KP to start 2024.
No chance Baker will be a backup next year after the year he had in Tampa Bay....
Goff is an established starter and rarely makes bad decisions. Purdy and Love are a bit untested, but also benefit from fantastic offensive schemes. I think they'd both be better than what we currently have on the roster. Maybe A LOT better, or maybe just a little. Hard to say to this point.
Baker is fine as a starting QB, I'm just surprised to see his resurgence. It felt like he was done when he left Cleveland.

Goff,in a very good situation is a very good QB,top 10 QB....Not in the Mahomes or Allen caliber but you can still win a super bowl with him
