    Nice Effort

Not complaining. The Steelers hung tough, but once again, a terrible start dooms them in the playoffs and made too many mistakes while Buffalo made next to none. They showed guts and scared a contending Bills team.

Re-Sign Mason Rudolph (assuming he wants to stay), and seriously kick Mitch Trubisky to the curb. Go into 2024 with Kenny and Mason. Sign a project to be #3.

Go outside the organization for an OC. Don't promote from within.

Start looking at a Center. I don't know what happened to Mason Cole, but he fell off a cliff. Center needs to be top priority.

    Re: Nice Effort

It's a good thing they made the playoffs, otherwise it would have been possible that the Steelers would have felt way too good about their team after a 3 game winning streak in the same way they felt too good after their 4 game winning streak last year....They kept Canada a big reason because of that

Now they will have big things to do....We can't stay stuck in the middle....

They played with some heart, better than looking lost and blown out.

Jack and Peterson had a rough day. Herbig and golden are no Watt. But your defense can't rely that heavily on one guy

I start the season with KP at QB1 but he should have a short leash. If he’s not clicking in 3-4 games, I’d promote whichever QB whose name is not Mitch.

Getting blown out in the first quarter won’t win you many postseason games. Sorry but that’s a Tomlin staple and that has to go

They didn't have the talent on offense to compete with the Bills.

The Bills were heavy favorites for a reason. The two turnovers really hurt, but as already noted they played hard till the end, it's a big reason why I don't feel too bad.

I’d do the same. Would NOT re-sign Mason. Would unload Trubisky and find someone else and maybe sign Dobbs as third string. HAVE to address Center as my Top-Priority behind a new OC!

Of-season will be a win if they hire an OC from outside the organization and not named Greg Roman.

I’d definitely sign Mason as QB2. The dude is 8-4-1 as a starter. What else do you want from a backup?

Mason Rudolph hasn't done anything that wouldn't make me want him on my team. At the very least, he has shown that he is exactly what you want as your backup QB.

I think people are afraid that Pickett will never get another chance with Rudolph here for some reason.

If Kenny is that fragile I’d rather move on from him now.

Knee jerk reaction is that I’d turn in all my QB cards.

But that’s likely both unrealistic and unreasonable.

I’m not excited to watch any of these guys.

Watched enough good QB play this weekend to remember what that looks like.

Rudolph and Pickett are fine. But neither has “it”.

It’s exactly what I would want out of a backup but I’d rather have a player that might have more upside. I mean I wouldn’t hate it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try to re-sign him. It’s be the 50th to 53rd player I signed.

I would go after Minshew if MR is not kept, but I would start the season with KP as the #1 so we know if he is the guy or we need to draft the guy after next season.

It comes down to price with Rudolph. He'll get a bigger payday but I'm not a believer they'll be some big market for him.

In addition to a competent OC we need our starting caliber ILB’s back. The bills just marched down the field after we came within 7.

In addition to the obvious needs (C, CB2, SS….maybe QB?)

The ILB thing has somehow gotten lost in the noise.

They totally remade the entire position group But suffered so many injuries, they had to play the guy they let go for poor performance.

It’s amazing they did anything but crater.

    Center
    ILB
defensive back overhaul. The secondary is so slow, and lacks athleticism.

At that price, MR would likely be back.

The pick in the endzone really hurt tonight, but he is a good backup as long as that is all he is. If he doesn't throw that pick it would have been a completely different game.

This. I never liked the Mason Rudolph pick. Quickly into the first or second game, I really harped on him not being able to throw well and being mediocre at best. I still say MR is not a true starter in this league (that is, he is not a long-term solution for any team). However, he's proved over the last few weeks that he could be an outstanding back up QB, and one I'd really want to keep on my team. His arm strength has dramatically improved, and he is very decisive with the ball.

His problem is that he's a poor man's John Kitna. He's a game manager that cannot put the team on his back and carry them. I really believe we saw his ceiling the first three games he played, and the last two games saw him come back down to his average. Again, as a backup, I'll take it.

I'm also not completely sold on Pickett, and I am not excited about going into next season with him as the number 1. However, I also think it is unfair to judge him by his work under Canada. The one full game he played not under Canada was a much better game.

Still, I have to wonder, if we can get some trade value for either Pickett or Rudolph (or both?), do we take it, bundle it with our number one and two, or one and three, and try to move up to get a QB if we can?

On second thought, the ILB position may not be a need in the off-season and Trice will be back so the CB position may be decent as well. This team may only be a competent OC and C away from seriously competing…

    Still need ILB reinforcements.

Say Roberts and Holcomb start. Alexander can’t be counted on. Achilles are tricky things. I suspect his burst will evaporate.

Robinson is fine. But that’s only 3.

I don't see the Steelers being willing to give up that much and given all of the needs this team has, I don't think I would either.

trading our 1 and 3 plus two current QBs for a 1st round QB if we have confidence (and there's a way to get him, which I know is stretching) is not really giving up that much. Not for the level of talent we would be upgrading. Of course, I'm assuming we draft a QB that is good rather than someone who comes in and can't perform, and that's always the catch.

I’m glad we played with more effort than that pathetic effort by the Eagles.
