If Watt was playing you could take 4 points off of that

With Magic Mason at the helm I don’t see how we lose.![]()

Steelers averaged 145 rushing ypg for the last 10 weeks. 2nd best mark in the league. They can win that way. Mason just makes a play here and there and we can win if the run game wins. That’s what I’ll whisper myself to sleep with.

Without Watt, my pronouns for this game are He/Herbig.
ESPN is giving us a .4% chance of making the Superbowl.

For this game, maybe they will not win but their chance are much better that it was back in 2021 vs KC....I think the steelers will be at least competitive in this game. The Bills have a 5 games winning streak but 4 of those was by a one score game,2 of those was vs Chargers and Pats and every of those game was very important for the Bills
The injury of Watt is terrible and this is huge, but at least the depth at this position seems to be much better that last year when Malik Reed was our starter when Watt was down
Last time we face the Bills in the playoffs(1995)
Allen always thinks he’s better than everyone on the field, on every play. And he’s right about 90% of the time. The problem is the other 10% when he becomes careless due to his overconfidence. The Steelers need to be opportunistic in those situations and turn the ball over. They also need to limit the damage during the other 90% when is is throwing it all over the field and running everywhere.
I'm hoping it will be close but I'm kind of expecting to get out asses kicked. That's ok though, I never even thought we'd have a chance to qualify for the playoffs three weeks ago. 145 rushing yards per game over the last 10 weeks is huge. If Mason can continue to be the game manager that he has been and the if defense can step up without Watt there might be some chance. I'm just glad I get to watch my squad for at least one more week.
Here we go Steelers![]()

I’ve got that 1989 postseason feeling
Yeah, I think the Steelers gameplan has to be old school ball control and shorten the clock. Hopefully force some turnovers and score off those, as the Bills are the more talented and likely healthier team with the better QB.
The reality is that this Steelers team doesnt have what it takes to win the Super Bowl this year, so its just a matter of enjoying the game and effort as much as I can as a Steelers fan.
The Bills no longer beat you with Diggs, Don't let them establish a run game and keep them one dimensional and that is where Josh will try to do to much and make mistakes. Play Kincaid tight and this could be the Steelers problem more so than Diggs and Porter should keep him in check.
I dont think that we will see Porter on Diggs, as Diggs is to quick of a route runner for a big CB like Porter. Honestly I think we should hope for snow as the Bills have quicker skill players like Cook, Diggs, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox than the Steelers have in coverage. On a dry track, those guys will find holes in the LB and Secondary.
If I am the Bills defense, I load up against the run and make the Steelers beat you with Rudolph and play a lot of man and bracket Pickens, or Quarters coverage. Rudolph generally throws to his first look, so those DB's will look to be close and Poyer and Hyde will look to jump the routes.
I dont like the chances, but will be hopefully an entertaining game.
I'm not sure that you need 3 Safeties vs the Steelers receivers, like the Dolphins to protect against the deep pass. I could see playing nickel with 3 Safeties vs the Steelers 13 personel group to put an extra tackler in the box, but also have athletes like Hyde, Poyer and Rapp to handle the play action run off of 13.
I would load up on the run defense and get Steelers in longer distance on 3rd downs. Then either bracket Pickens and make others beat you. Steelers should anticipate something like that and look to have Austin more involved in the passing game opposite Pickens to take safety coverage and that should open things more for Friermuth and Johnson in the seams.
Honestly, Rudolph doesnt move anybody with his eyes. He looks at his first read and is making quick decisions to throw, so the play where one of the Ravens almost picked off a short pass was not surprising. The TD to Johnson was, as the Safety should have just read his eyes and gone to the #2 receiver (DJ) and jumped that route instead of looking at the TE. Good safeties like Hyde and Poyer will not let that go as easily as the Ravens backup.
The steelers need to force the Bills offense to be patient since the more plays the Bills need to have a scoring drive the more likely Allen will have some turnovers
Last season in our 38-3 loss in Buffalo, the Bills had so many big play, like a 98 yards TD on the 3rd play of the game....
I don’t expect a victory. I think it could have been close if TJ was playing. If we can limit the big plays and get GP involved we can make a game of it. Rushing for over 100yds for Najee will be key, as will getting better protection for MR. If we can hit on a couple big plays, who knows what will happen. Hopefully MFF will be available.
