What you don't see in that freeze frame is that Pittman is completely horizontal and airborne. Had Pittman not dove through the air Kazee would be hitting him with his shoulder in his mid section. Pittman diving and Minshew's horrible throw are 50% responsible for this hit. It's so easy to play Monday morning QB and say, Kazee needs to play the ball and try to rip it out but this happened in a split second and when Kazee lined him up, like I said, he was aiming for his chest. I said it above, if you don't want to get "defenseless receivers" hit, then the receivers need to have skin in the game as well and rules need to be put in place to restrict them from putting themselves into these positions. Just like when they say a QB can be hit if they are a runner out of the pocket. If a receivers leaves their feet then they shouldn't be considered defenseless anymore.
But as Troy Vincent said a few years back it is only a matter of time before the NFL is flag football. But you simply cannot neuter just the defense and not put any restrictions on the offense. Next thing you know they ask our WR's to block.
