This is what happens at any employer who lets one terrible employee fester and it ruins the attitude of all the employees. Canada and the offense rotted the whole team

The adjectives that come spilling out of all these thesaurus is pretty funny.

It’s like no one remembers what happens on losing teams.

MojoUW’s been on plenty of losing teams. This is what happens it all just breaks down.

I’ve also been part of it getting fixed by restoring faith in the approach.

It’s just not that surprising of a season outcome. And it’s also not that hard to fix. Just hire a decent offensive staff.

I agree. There are quality players in place. Some obvious players that need to be upgraded. Just keep swimming/making positive moves.

It should actually be a desirable job. You g talent and a HC that is pretty much gonna let you do your thing. And expectations are low

The pearl-clutching, hand-wringing, and rending of garments is getting pretty funny.

I have always really really liked and respected Alex K's thoughts and content on the Steelers....but he's letting his emotions get the better of him a bit.

For most of the off-season and early season (when the team was winning) he was over the moon and waxing poetic about the Steelers depth - especially at OLB. Now, he's grumbling and moaning about how they have useless guys on the roster like Golden at OLB.

I get that you're pissed off and frustrated as a fan....but you can't even stay consistent in your own beliefs? If Golden was as exciting and "good" of a signing as you went on record as saying early in the season....you need to have some sort of reason as to why you now think he is a waste of a roster spot. Or at least be willing to admit you were wrong in your evaluation. After all, you're blaming the Steelers for being wrong....but not yourself?

At least that is how it comes off.

Rooney definitely is facing a major dilemma this off-season.

does he extend Tomlin or go through a lame-duck season next year?

In hindsight, the time to consider cutting Tomlin loose was years ago after the Jacksonville debacle, The 2018 collapse, or the Browns debacle. We held on with hopes just waiting to take the next step but the product on the field continues to decline and will continue to get worse in '24 with Tomlin as a potential lame duck. Cut your losses now and start rebuilding with a new regime as soon as possible. We're not contenders nor will we be contending anytime soon. We also need an OC. What OC will come into this situation knowing for a fact that it's all about to blow up and he needs time to rebuild this terrible offense?

The Steelers are in this current spot because they waited too long to make changes instead of seeing the writing on the wall. Tomlin held on to the comfort of the veteran Trubisky and didn't embrace the future with Pickett, and it cost him and this team dearly.

I think retaining Matt Canada was Tomlin's biggest mistake and largely responsible for the mess we currently find ourselves in.

Just the hiring. When he started influencing the playbook, it all went down hill.
