Matt Canada got the axe, though I think the offense doesn't really improve much because the Steelers are still using the playbook. Hopefully Faulkner has a better idea on play flow and rhythm. Will KP get outplayed by a backup again? It can't get any worse, could it?

Looking for positive changes in the offense today. Not expecting a huge change but looking for something the players can build off of and looking for some different play calls and a better game plan.
DO expect to see a lot of Warren today as he's attached to Faulkner and if Faulkner is trying to keep a job as an OC, I'd expect Warren to get a healthy dose with Harris getting some as well.

DJ runs backwards.... That hasn't changed..
Still throwing short of the sticks on 3rd down.
Pickett on the third down was reading down field and checked down. Again…another improvement.

If Heyward just turned up field immediately, he may have made that.
DJ running backwards for a 5 yard loss on second down made it a tough pickup on third down.
Less dumb than usual.

Both true. But I’ll defend DJ a bit. That play was DOA no matter what he did. And IF he managed to break a guys ankles and gain yards everyone cheers.

I think he wanted him to turn up field immediately instead of gathering himself and taking a look before he started running.
Not a great result because of that DJ screen. However, first play was something we haven’t seen. WR screen wasn’t a terrible idea…just poorly blocked. Third down Pickett was going through progressions downfield and threw to a checkdown. All in all, everything we haven’t seen in a long time.

The thing people need to understand is that plays like that can happen sometimes, but it is the responsibility of the player to try to get as much as they can....not run backwards. It's what DJ does far too often.

Good job out of Austin getting up the field and getting as much yardage as he could.
I agree and his momentum was going backwards. I don’t think he necessarily ran backwards on purpose but that physics thing got in the way…
If Pickett had a true #1 reciver his stats would look a lot better
