Just put that here for a minute.
Another player that looks better in a real offense…
Also his teammate James Conner is having a good year.
But yeah Dobbs beat a good defense vs Dallas and scored 16 against the Niners
Having an OC who can set up the QB in an offense that can convert 3rd downs must be nice.
Another team rebuilding but not laying a turd in the field

I think many here forget that they were convinced Dobbs sucked or had a low ceiling. I won't call out names, but here are some posts
Dobbs offers nothingHe's the modern version of Charlie Batch. Just there for his knowledge. There is no way Dobbs would ever be a starter in this league but Haskins and Rudolph could.the Steelers should have taken Desmond King instead of wasting the pick on DobbsWhen people are clamoring for Josh Dobbs and Duck Hodges, you know there’s problems.
Maybe some of us are quick to judge but really, Dobbs never got a chance here. Maybe Ben still being around had something to do with it
The new Ryan Fitzpatrick.
To be fair to the posters on here and the Steelers....about a half dozen teams have now decided that Dobbs isn't for them. In addition to the teams that have not attempted to sign him or trade for him.
I am happy for the guy and having his OC explain the play call that he just made as Dobbs was walking to the line of scrimmage is darn impressive. But...almost everyone associated with the NFL has evaluated him as "Thanks, but no thanks."
I believe I said the comparison to Batch.
Nothing I said wasn't true. He was not in the QB room to be the backup. Ben wanted him there as an extra set of eyes on the field.
So, I'm glad for Dobbs' success. It didn't work out here because he never got a shot.
I still stand by my statement.
I watched the Vikings game and I thought Dobbs did well. People seem surprised that he’s actually a QB. I can remember watching him at UT and thinking, this guy throws a beautiful deep ball. Why can’t he hit intermediate slants and crosses?
He has gotten better with those.
Yeah, I always thought that as a Steeler he looked at 1 REC and then took his eyes off the receivers downfield and started scrambling. And his intermediate passing wasnt great. Was more apt to make plays with his legs instead of his arm. He is a backup and good to see him having some success. A likeable player, but not anybody's long term answer at QB.
I think this may have been my statement but I also recall being one of the few here that wanted Dobbs as the backup before he became the backup and was a little miffed he didn't retain it once he got it because for me it wasn't clear that Mason actually won the job it seemed more like he was gifted it based on draft pos....the Steelers should have taken Desmond King instead of wasting the pick on Dobbs
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
I'm really happy for him. I bet Ben is very proud!

Has it ever occurred to anyone that Dobbs may just be this year's Derek Anderson and that as soon as the clock strikes midnight and opposing teams have enough film on him, he turns back into a pumpkin?

"Interesting. I always liked Dobbs. He's a great teammate and is great in the community. He showed the ability to make big plays and use his athleticism. He makes mistakes, but he was a much more explosive player and was a legitimate threat to make something happen. I would be good with that move.
I think Dobbs is an upgrade right now. I guess it's whether they think Duck has a higher ceiling. Only the team can answer that."
That was my quote about him. Pretty much how I remember it.
