What exactly did Tomlin get wrong about Dobbs? Seriously!?! He has played for eight different teams. The Steelers gave him shots two different times. Did you want him to start in front of Ben. In his second stint with the Steelers, he was beat out by MR for the backup roll. His only real success came last year…..with two different teams……and now he’s on a different one. What about all that points to Tomlin being wrong.
Dobbs, Duck, Jones, Rudolph, Pickett, Trubisky … They ALL are third string QBs at best…some play a role as a back up but talent wise, they are third string guys. They aren’t good. Average is their balls out ceiling.
We thought maybe Kenny could be higher than that in a real offense but Tanner McKee says otherwise…

Assuming Bailey Zappe gets cut, that means the top seven QBs from the 2022 draft will have been let go by their original team before their 3rd season.
Pickett, Ridder, Willis, Corral, Zappe, Howell, and Oladokun.
The ones who stayed? Skylar Thompson (MIA) and Brock Purdy (SF).

Pickett played like a 3 but because of his draft status and “name” he gets that “automatic bump” to #2. See Malik Willis as a reference guide.

I recommend we close this Pickett thread too. Seasons starting lets focus on that. If KP somehow revives his career or gets cuts we got a third pickett thread in this forum to use for that stuff.
