    Biggest concern after this game.

For the record, I still have us making playoffs. We looked bad. Downright embarrassing at times. But, it was against probably the best team in the NFC - San Fran could go 14 -3 easily.

Biggest concern for me is o'line. There was only one new starter in the line-up. Yes, the Niners have a great d'line, but still, they should have battled better. Where is the running game? Kenny looked shell shocked. However, I can just accept that as a learning experience. He had some bad throws, but we have seen him make the throws he missed today in the past.

The defense concerns me less. We have a lot of new moving parts on defense. It's probably going to take a while to get it together.

However, if the o'line doesn't get it together soon we are mediocre at best.

Wallace and Adams looked horrible. Some how big “ken” looked worse with placement of the ball he never looked comfortable after the first interception

SOme of that was definitely on Kenny. I think some was also on he and the receivers not being on the same page. ARob for instance had a perfect spot to sit and wouldve been wide open. Kenny threw to that spot. ARob kept running and the ball was behind him.

According to the stats sheet and my questionable math skills, we attempted a grand total of 9 rushes today. KP had 1 4yard run that I don’t remember. Maybe it was designed or maybe just a scramble. Najee got 6 carries and Warren only 3.

First, that is what the 49ers do defensively. They make you 1-dimensional on offense so they can just attack the pocket. We did a terrible job up front both protecting KP and opening running lanes.

Second, TJ Watt was a monster. Our entire LB corp showed up ready to play. These guys deserve a ton of credit for the job they did.

Last, Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk are pretty damn good at the football. I think they are going to make a lot of defenders look silly and slow.

Better than the Bengals because they lost a division game.

Pickett still looks like a journeyman QB. I see nothing in this young man to show he can command/lead an NFL offense to a SB or the playoffs.

As for Tomlin, he is the same clueless coach he was from day 1.

Pickett looked like, well, Mason Rudolph. I'm not panicking about that though. He handled pressure fine last year against the Ravens and Raiders. He threw accurate passes into tight windows. Also, I am hopeful we will get the running game going. We won't face a tougher front all year.

I believe the adage that: you're rarely as bad as you look when you get blown out and rarely as good as you look when you blow somebody else out.

I think we thought we could run the ball at least enough to slow Bosa and company down. And, when we couldn't, Canada isn't innovative enough, and Kenny not experienced enough to adjust.

The 2-minute offense scored fairly easily.

I've seen some stinker openers from all 3 head coaches and the Steelers always start slow.

DL might be a little bit scary now. If the injuries to Cam and Leal become a lingering issue and Larry O’s foot already is. That’s all 3 starters down after 1 game.

ILBs worry me...They're slow and can't play in space. They're all the same type of player. Thumpers who can't play sideline to sideline.

OL and KP worry me as well. The OL was dominated in every aspect. It really was pitiful. As bad as the run blocking was...the pass blocking wasn't too bad, but KP had the deer in the headlights as soon as he took his first hit. KP wasn't making the routine plays routinely.

Re: Biggest concern after this game.

Dan Moore was thrown into action at LT as a rookie and I would have no issue sticking Brod Jones in at RT vs the Browns if Chuks can’t go. Keep Washington in right beside him and the 2 of them can lock down that side together if needed.

Thing is, you have to move the chains. All this discussion on the playcalling is just noise when the offense keeps going 3&out. None of your setup plays will work.

The Steelers got handled and beaten at the LOS on both sides of the ball. I’m amazed they didn’t score 50. We got whooped. All there is to say about it.

    Another fast start!

    Funny John McKay Quotes
When asked about his team’s execution: “I’m in favor of it.”

We didn’t tackle well today, but we made up for it by not blocking.

We’ve broken down the expansion teams, and they’ve averaged winning 2.7 games their first year, which to me, is rather difficult. I figured out the 2, but the .7 has got me wondering what the hell is going on.

Emotion is highly overrated in football. My wife Corky is emotional as h@#$ but can’t play football worth a damn.

On his team’s blocking strategy: “Hold when you’re at home and don’t hold when you’re on the road.”

Kickers are like horse manure. They’re all over the place.

If you have everyone back from a team that lost ten games, the experience isn’t too important.

    Sayings on Football
On how coaching an expansion team is like a religious experience: “You do a lot of praying, but most of the time the answer is ‘no.’

I’ll probably take a little time off and go hide somewhere. We will be back. Maybe not this century, but we will be back, and we will be a better football team.

On the Buccaneer’s ineffective special-teams play, “They were absolutely horrible, and that’s the best thing I can say. Besides that, they were bad. These people are not poorly paid, you know.

There were times I felt like leaving the stadium and hitchhiking home. (On how badly the Bucs looked in losing to the Steelers 42-0)

Now the Steelers are the 79' Bucs.

This was like a measuring stick kind of game and, the Steelers play awful on the offense side of the ball. Might be fixable let's see what type of changes they do. Look what happened to Burrow this week against the Browns and, we got the Browns in prime-time next Monday. I'm still not sold on our OC coordinator but, TJ Watt and, the linebackers were real good. We made Purdy look like the second coming of Brady!

The KP Canada dynamic doesn’t look good so far. Why does KP stand there and throw as Cole and the rest of the o line is being pushed right into him? I think it affected his throwing and accuracy. He’s mobile, he should run to the right or left or dump it off to an outlet receiver. Is Canada telling him to hang in the pocket (or flattened pocket)? Last year he would run to the right or left.

Same thing happens to Rudolph. Maybe Kenny learned from him.

Dan Moore's day Sunday 1 sack given up 2 QB Hits 9 pressures ...I'd say its time for the rookie
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

Shanahan took Canada to school, I’m afraid others will follow the blue print - I don’t like the chances of Canada being able to counter.

Cam going down is worrisome too. Our run defense looked worse than I thought
