I don't think he did enough to overtake Moore. Moore has had a really good camp and preseason.
Jones will keep working. Maybe he will be worked in from time to time. If Moore is injured, he will get all the playing time and attention, and we will find out whether he is ready or not.
I imagine they will bring Jones in for short yardage when they add a sixth lineman.
Read an article somewhere saying Jones was happy to be the #2 and that Tomlin was happy to bring him along slowly this year.
Moore being too good for Jones to be a backup for now is a GOOD thing for the Steelers. I’m happy for Moore.
I think they were right , but I also think that 800+ Live NFL snaps and being young and Hungry with a young dog drafted to take your place has motivated Dan Moore to up his training and consequently his game ... this is a good problem to have and one that will in time sort itself out but the way Moore played in camp and preseason there is no reason to hurry anything along at this point so why do it ....
once they do tho with the run blocking ability offered by Jones with Seumalu beside him and bringing Washington in to that side there will be a TON of run left in the playbook utilization
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
You got that right, especially that last part!
If Jones is what we think he can be, what a powerful run-blocking left side with Washington lined up over there. My God! I still think the plan will be to move Moore to the right side. I believe he is an upgrade to Chuks and is a more physical player. Find a stud center or even a solid backup for Cole and the OL will be set for a good while.
