FWIW (which is very little)...I don't see how it can be poaching to offer an alternative to the denizens of forum with a known expiration date. It would be a horse of a different color if this place was ongoing and someone made a pitch for us to jump ship to another place.

Also....we can all post multiple places. Heck, I now post at like 4 of these things at some level.

I guess I am not in a monogamous relationship with Steelers internet forums.

Or secretly PMing members trying to snipe them away. Openly offering a choice to a doomed forum isn't poaching.

    Give a lib a fish--he eats for a day

Teach a lib to fish--he is back the next day asking for more free fish.

Wait.. so you actually enjoy multiple forums? What a crime.

I lived through the Steelers Fever days and remember how that went. I spent the last three years trying to buy that domain to revive it. I gave up this year as the owner keeps renewing it yearly, likely hoping to profit from it. So, I planned on launching Steelers Country. Naturally, when you're starting a forum, you scope out the other successful forums, which led me to find out Steelers Universe was shutting down.

I wish the story were more sinister than that, and I could come here to reveal my master plan of stealing members from forums, but in reality, I noticed a thread created by users seeking alternatives. Here we are.

I agree and the SteelersCountry seems to be (to me) the most compatible with posting from a cell phone. Very clean and easy to post. No adds constantly popping up that you have to work around.

My preference is for this board to survive but I’ll still check out SC either way…

    Re: Other Steelers sites

I go to Steelers Country daily just to check in on posts. Hardly anyone over there ever. Most times it's just me on the list.

I'm glad the traffic has picked back up on here and glad to see Ezra Tank will be taking over.

I still visit and post on TheSteelersFans. Pretty similar group over there.

PlanetSteelers seems to be mostly just the disgruntled/fire everyone/blow it up crowd. I haven't been on there since before the season started.

I check on planet steelers almost every day , haven't posted since I seen this place will be staying ....

This is home for me , not saying I wont toss in a comment once in awhile there but its not home
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

I've been posting at Steelers Nation for the past several months. There's lots of activity and it's pretty civil. You will need an ad blocker extension on your browser though. I use Ad Lock and it blocks them all. I like SU, but the activity level is extremely low here (especially in the off season).
