Steelers Training Camp Takeaways: Passing Game Looks….Mid
https://steelersnow.com/steelers-tra...sing-game-mid/But how can I get excited about an offense that, to this point, is largely mid. Pickett doesn’t have much to blame in this. Although, today he does. But Pickett is not yet at the stage where he is a star quarterback who somehow elevates everything around him. They might get some explosive plays with George Pickens and Diontae Johnson. Moreover, they have some nice tight ends to work with and a good stable of running backs.
It’s just the scheme is not diverse. The deep shots are formulaic. So far, the execution is what you would expect from a young offense. There is not a lot to convince me that this is a team that will be consistently explosive and a particularly good passing game. They’re better than last year, but that doesn’t translate into a good passing attack.
Haven't read through much of the camp notes but any sign of a Herbig vs Herbig moment?
Kendrick Green got two snaps at Fullback during Friday Night Lights. 10 yard run, and a pancake block. Wish I knew the back story on Monte the Mullet. Had the team made.
Vince Williams predicted this about Kendrick Green or at least tossed around the idea.

I haven't been this excited for the season to start in a few years.
This Green experiment makes little to no sense. Are they going to keep 5 players at the TE/FB spot? If not, you’re most likely cutting a more talented player or just wasting reps to have fun at the expense of reps a player like Heyward could be getting…if we start seeing this as a trend, I’ll be worried for the roster build…
They could keep KG ( if he proves worthy) as the big package FB for short yardage and just use Heyward any other time , that said we simply don't use the FB very often ... KG is pretty athletic for a big guy 4.89-40 , was known for his ability to pull as a guard in college ....if they can manage to find some semblance of value for the guy they spent a 3rd round pick on I am all for it AS LONG AS his play dictates worth ........
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. 4 teams in 5 years and traded twice in one off season
Multiple reports pretty said even Green thinks it was a spring practice gimmick.
I am thinking along the lines as a pure blocker ... going in the game as a listed FB but basically another lineman that doesnt have to be still on the line and get that 5 yard running start

it could be , it also could now be a thought as it was successful
who knows

A whole lot of positives talk about Kendrick Green's play at fullback. Zach Gentry should be feeling the pressure if this continues into the preseason.
This is two days in a row KG is running over linebackers, and catching the ball. This is not bs'ing.

I'm sure there were many times when we all would have liked to punch KG in the face with a boxing glove.
