The veteran pass rusher has recorded three seasons with at least 10 sacks. He also racked up 4 FF during the 2021 season with the #AZCardinals.

If he was related to Robert Golden he would have been signed already.![]()
Quality depth piece and perhaps suggestive that Herbig will be slated for the inside.
If signed, Golden will supplant either Quincy Roche or Tanner Muse. Or both, if they still want Herbig outside. It'll be interesting to watch.
I would love to see Marcus Golden in a rotation with the other OLBer's keeping everyone fresh ... he is clearly the most capable to date IMO to play in our system
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
I have zero evidence for this opinion, but I do not think they get rid of Muse. His pickup seemed to be a bit of a boon and a nice swift kick to the nutsack of the Seachickens.
Maybe but I think not so much because it’s a one year trial of a dumb rule. If the league makes it permanent after the season, then I think we start to see changes.
Maybe we see more squib kicks this year. Hope for some weird bounces and maybe you even get the ball back. Think of the scrums and the bloodbath! Hmm, this rule change might have an effect opposite from its intention.
Agree that with a one year trial it is hard to really plan for the impact. BUT...guys like Boykin, Killebrew, Muse, etc are not often multi-year contract guys. So do teams leave those guys off their rosters this year and figure they can always find that "type" of player on the free agent roles in a give off-season?
I am not advocating for that to be the case, but am just starting to wonder if NFL GM's may think it is a roll of the dice they can win and allow them to sneak an extra player through....
Not a bad thought. You can have your one or two special teams aces, without requiring all of the fringe roster to have ST chops. But - is this rule only for kickoffs though? I think there's still the punt return game to worry about, and honestly in your typical NFL game there are more punts than scoring drives. If you're pinned deep and get a monster punt to the opposing 35 or 40... you still need to be able to stop them from crossing midfield.
He is a steelers!

Steelers reached agreement today on a one-year deal with former Cardinals LB Markus Golden, per source.
Love the signing. Rotational guy and quality depth. Will keep us fresh. Roche, Muse, and Herbig will be basically competing for one spot, though I'm still thinking Herbig kicks inside. Will be an interesting preseason.
Happy to see them finally get a legit #3 OLB who can start if needed.
