3rd String dude or camp body. When was the last time the Steelers ran with 2 QB's in a season?
Though with this new Pickett fence O-Line they built, maybe they can get away with it.
Who are some players you would like to see get a shot with the Steelers?
I"m hoping for a few of these guys.
UDFA targets:
Andre Carter ll - EDGE - Army
Keavon Merriweather - S - Iowa
Ivan Pace Jr - LB - Cincinnati
Jalen Moreno-Cropper - WR - Fresno
Keaton Mitchell - RB - ECU
Dontay Demus Jr- WR - Maryland
Brandon Joseph - S - Notre Dame
Jeremy Banks - LB - Tenn
Bryce Ford-Wheaton - WR - WVU
Henry Bainivalu - G - Washington
Andre Carter is 6-7. Wow
Per Aaron Wilson, Steelers sign Monte Pottebaum, FB, Iowa
$10,000 signing bonus.

Add David Perales, DE, Fresno State.
11.5 sacks last season, 9 career forced fumbles.
Future camp darling?
I read that Perales is the next Harrison, but more athletic and dynamic.
We'll see if they sign more UDFA's, small class as of right now, and not an impressive one, which has been a trend of late.
Fullback Monte Pottebaum is probably my favorite UDFA signing. If he plays well in that role and on special teams he may have a spot of the roster. They could keep 3 TE's, a fullback(Monte) and instead of a 6th WR, Heyward would take that spot as a flex option.
Watched BT Potter at Clemson, good kid and got better as his career went on. Missed big kicks in the Orange Bowl. Boswell if healthy isn't going anywhere but if he continues to get plagued with groin injuries, the end may be near.
Hopefully someone gets info on James Nyamwaya, DT, Merrimack. He fits what they like. 6'4", 294 lbs, 34" arms.

Would like to see them sign Keylon Stokes.
Good advice from someone who lived it and slayed it!

James Harrison, Rod Smith, John Randle, Kurt Warner, Warren Moon, Antonio Gates among those greats who went undrafted. The scouts got it wrong on those guys.
Only so many players can get the phone call in 7 rounds. Still plenty of good football players out there with a chance to make a team. I thought we might invite more RBs since finding Warren just last season.
I am also surprised there are no RBs and no WRs. They usually like to have a ton of both going into camp and OTAs. Especially because most of the rostered players at those positions will not be able to participate in some of the earliest sessions due to CBA stuff and their more veteran status.
Maybe more coming after rookie tryouts and the close of the various spring football seasons?
I would like to see another veteran RB signed.
A Justin Jackson, Marlon Mack, JD McKissock, Royce Freeman type would work for me...that middle of the road back that could start and be a little productive if called upon for a few games.
Fast Willie!!
I like the Tanner Morgan pickup. He could work in as the #3 and eventually turn out to be a solid backup QB that doesnt have a high cap #.
Steelers have invited Duquesne WR Dwayne Menders to rookie mini camp. This little guy can catch some balls!

Morgan looked really good a few years ago when he had a loaded roster and a couple NFL level receivers to throw to and a good running game. He had a huge year in 2019 when he threw for over 3200 yards with 30 TD and 7 INT.
In all his other seasons, he had pretty pedestrian numbers. He is an accurate thrower, but he can't elevate the players around him. He is dependent on having talented people around him to have real success. This isn't out of the ordinary. Only top-tier quarterbacks really elevate teams that don't have much talent. I think he has a chance to be a decent backup on a solid team where he just needs to be more of a game manager and distribute the ball to the weapons and hand the ball off a lot.
DT, James Nyamwaya player profile. He's an intriguing prospect. Practice squad candidate for sure.
