Omar Khan: Joey Porter Jr. Made Steelers Stay at No. 32
https://steelersnow.com/omar-khan-jo...-32-nfl-draft/
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
Meanwhile, Chase Claypool is whining about not being used properly by da Bears.
What to do here with the cornerback situation over the bye?
The only clear adjustment is start JPJ, period. Yeah, of course his lockdown numbers are unsustainable, but we have enough of a sample size to determine he is highly HIGHLY unlikely to be playing worse than Wallace/Peterson for any significant stretch. Moving Peterson to the slot just doesnt sound like a practical idea even though I've seen that thrown around the most. How do we know he wont suck just as bad there? He has been an outside corner almost his entire career, the most snaps he's played in the slot in a season is only 112...7 years ago
And here's a charting of how the cornerbacks from last year lined up (plus Peterson, King, and Sullivan):
Sullivan by all records, sounds like he has been hot trash everywhere he goes. King seems like the respectably balanced choice. Good experience and pedigree regardless of where he lines up. He's been a smart savvy player both in college and the pros, I expect him to be up to speed just fine come the Rams game.
I honestly think it should be Porter outside, King inside, and flip a coin between Peterson/Wallace (I think Peterson would inevitably get the nod no matter what due to past accomplishments/being the old mentor and not much else). And cheat Minkah towards whatever side Peterson/Wallace is on and I think we can clean up the broken plays significantly
Porter follows the #1.
Wallace is the other outside starter.
Peterson, King, and Kazee are matchup sub package DB pieces.
Those three could create some turnovers doing wacky stuff with MF as well.
