Well Nickle db is a HUGE need. Frankly. It’s the weakest manned regular spot after LT. So…there is that. I know they think they have a variety of contributing personnel and packages. But not.

He needs to work on being more consistent. He has all the physical tools. I don't think he will hold up strictly as NT without putting on weight. He is a guy that can be very disruptive at times, but need to get more technically sound and consistent.
This could be a very good player if he reaches his potential.

That's the key. When Benton puts it all together, he's a monster in the interior. Can just wreck plays singlehandedly. But then he just kinda disappears for stretches. To be fair....Wisco had a rough year this past season and all the turmoil might have had an impact...

The team did have a down year, and sometimes a player could be trying to do too much instead of just doing his job. With that said, he has the ability to play NT and also DE in the 3-4. I think they want to have a bunch of guys that could move around all over the defensive front and can penetrate and disrupt. He can do that.
Maybe they want him to gain a lot of weight and be a stronger force inside. We shall see. I'm sure they have a plan.
This is also what Terrell Austin has just said....They don't see him as just a 2 down lineman
