Do you look forward more to the NFL draft or the NFL schedule release?

Do you look forward more to the NFL draft or the NFL schedule release?

Many years ago, I used to take the day off from work to watch the NFL draft when it was during the week and even did a mock draft with a buddy to compare on how we picked. Then came along VCRs and at that time, because of my Cable box, I could only record what I was viewing so I recorded the draft. My then wife thought watching paint dry was more exciting. I'd come home and watch the draft and tell her how lucky she was. She got to watch it twice since she was home with our son! She didn't see it that way. I never understood why not lol. I tried to tell her the NFL draft was THE most exciting non-athletic sporting event that determined every NFL team's future success.

I know with the NFL schedule release, many Steeler fans, myself included can figure out what road trip(s) to consider like the Steelers in Las Vegas this year. To some Steelers fans, it's like Christmas morning and they can play their fall schedule around it. For years a friend from Harrisburg that bought quite a few of my Steeler tickets would make the trip to St. Vincent's for training camp and make a vacation out of it and figure out which games she wanted to go to during the season

Do you look forward to one more than the other?

Draft, who cares about the schedule. We already know we play the Ravens, Bengals, Browns twice and always seem to play Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, Pats, Colts, Dolphins, and Jets every year, plus one division from the NFC.

Draft. Free agency through preseason is my favorite time of the year, with the draft being like the crowning day of that period.

draft because teams can control to some degree who they get and do not get , the schedule is the schedule you play who is on it and thats that no control over it ...
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

Superbowl with the Steelers representing the AFC?

Outside of that - I'll go with the draft.

What I used to find interesting about the schedule was waiting to see how early the league would schedule the Steelers' bye week, when for a while, the NFL seemed hell bent on finding the earliest week possible for the Steelers. And additionally, waiting to see what week we would GO TO New England, which always seemed to be a requirement. The NFL schedulers appear to have relented on both of those issues lately.

The draft affects the Steelers and every team in the NFL, but it does not effect or personally impact any fan. The schedule release impacts fans directly, who then begin making plans for road trips, booking flights, booking hotels, planning their travel. The draft does none of that.

Assuming you attend any NFL games in person, let alone Steelers games.

How many NFL fans attend games? I've been to one ever in 3+ decades of watching the game. Let alone attend annually...I don't know anyone who goes to more than like a game every 5 years or so.

Draft, myself. You can already figure out who the team is playing, all the schedule does is tell you when and where.

The schedule makers aren't deciding who plays who and where arbitrarily. They follow a system.

If you don't live in an NFL city how far are you willing to travel to go see a Steelers game? I mean a special trip just for the game. I once went to St. Louis to watch the Steelers play at the Rams. Ben got hurt and Vick finished the game. That was about a 3hr drive and close to $800 all expenses for just myself and my son. That is the only time I have ever been to a live NFL game. I don't plan to do that again.

I flew from Hawaii to catch a Ravens game at home in like 2013. It was freakin awesome but I don't know if I'd do it again, just too far of a trip to catch a game lol. It was something I had to do at least once though, but now my traveling is usually centered around surfing different locations.

No hotel involved you got off cheap. I paid over $800 for a hotel in Pittsburgh for two nights. On top of the price of 4 tickets and the 5 hour drive, gas and tolls.

The prices to see an NFL game live is ridiculous…

We actually stayed in a hotel within walking distance of the stadium. 2 tickets plus travel expenses. I only rounded off around the cost. Must have been 2015. But yes, the cost of going to an NFL game makes no sense.

I got lucky this past year. I went to the Jets game. 106.00 for the ticket and my cousin and I split a room for 150.00 each for two nights.

You probably stayed where we did. Out the front door and to the right was Heinz Field and PNC was behind it? That one cost me $400/night. Lol. Was worth it for the experience though.

Probably not. My game was in St. Louis vs the Rams.
