Final Steelers Mock Drafts for 2023

We have 5 days to get this year's draft puzzle solved, at least partially. Put in your final mocks here. Come back and edit as much as you want. Let's see who can get closest to what the Steelers actually do, AND maybe we can all combine our mocks and actually solve this as a group.

    I'll go first...

    17. Joey Porter Jr CB PSU - I just think this is the plan.

    32. Antonio Johnson Safety TexasA&M - 6'2"-200LBs hybrid Safety that develops into an elite SS beside Minkah.

    49. Dawand Jones OT OSU - An absolute mountain to protect KP at RT.

    80. Zach Harrison DE OSU - Back to back OSU players, this one for the defensive side. Who better for Cam to mentor?

    120. Bryce Ford-Wheaton WR WVU - Size and speed WR in the mold of Bryant/Claypool. More of a big slot guy for the NFL.

    241. Robert Beal Jr OLB Georgia - More of an upside/potential prospect that fits the Steelers mold for OLB. Immediate ST star.

    251. SirVocea Dennis ILB Pitt - Immediate ST star that could develop into a 7th round steal at LB.

1.5 days later and already an edit. Dropped picking a Center, moved my WR all the way up to the 4th round. Added a 2nd 7th round LB .

    120. Ricky Stromberg OC Arkansas - So many options. More OL protection for KP by getting my personal favorite Center in this draft.

    234. Bryce Ford-Wheaton WR WVU - Size and speed WR in the mold of Bryant/Claypool. More of a big slot guy for the NFL.

That's a good mock. All solid picks...and probably pretty realistically about where they will go in the draft.

I'm a little concerned that Porter won't make it to 17. People fall in love with combine numbers, but performance on the field is still king. He stopped Marvin Harrison Jr in their head to head matchup this year. No other CB has that on their resume.

awesome, all good picks. its such a great time of year, everyone's opinion is different and to hear the team building thoughts are especially intriguing, both rewarding and not. I tend to remember the "not" ones lol, but call it being a fan.

    Final Mock '23

    1. Trade down to Jax (or early 20s). JPJ gone to the Commanders at 16 and Paris Johnson Jr, Broderick Jones gone. Witherspoon and Gonzalez gone at CB.
Selection: Trenton Simpson ILB Clemson. The ILB room has been turned upside down and the unfortunate injury to RS50 still haunts. Say hello to the next ILB to get a crack at it. He also fills the hole for a SS/Nickel guy in situations. The ILB draft class is weak and they've shown no interest in Sanders and average interest in Campbell. But they fired the position coach and turned over the roster. No pressure for a starting spot, work him in and that athleticism.....can we stop with the ILB room now? They gain a 4th and next year picks in my scenario as well as an exchange of Firsts this year. I think Jax goes for Myles Murphy.

2A. Trade down again! To 36 or 37 so either the Rams or Seahawks can get the guy they covet. This gives us an extra 3rd this year and future picks.
2B. (36 or 37) Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami
    2C. 49 - Tuli Tuipulotu OLB USC
3A. Chandler Zavala IOL NC State. Depth with Herbig and future C.
3B. Jayden Reed WR Mich St. WR depth and KR ability.
4A. Luke Schoonmaker TE Mich. Blocker and receiving ability. Roberts at pro day.
4B. Carter Warren OT Pitt. KmfP is already familiar and he provides OT depth they sorely lack.
7A. Robert Beal OLB Georgia. STs guy and depth.
7B. Tanner Ingle S NC State. STs guy

    Who I want

    1. B Jones OT
    2A. M Smith DT/NT
    2B. Campbell ILB
    3. C Phillips CB
    4. S Bennett QB
    7A. A Vorhees G
    7B. T Dean S
The last time the Steelers won a playoff game it was 2016. That is six years ago. We are keeping the Jets and Lions company. The standard remains the standard.

Voorhees in the 7th would be sublime. I had him as a 2nd rounder until he got shot from the grassy knoll on his 1st combine drill. I mean come on, the luck or lack thereof......BUT he's a perfect Pat Meyer project. Maybe he gets here some other way, it will be interesting to see his career arc.

There are many good threads. Not sure which one you mean exactly. My attempt here is to make a thread exclusively for putting in your FINAL mock. 3 days left.

Re: Final Steelers Mock Drafts for 2023

I have never felt confident about the Steelers trading back. Cuz they simply stand pat and go to their board. But after listening to the recent Khan and Tomlin interview - I feel pretty confident they are getting more picks and trading that number 32. They seem way to giddy about the work they put in and the stones they turned over, along with the happiness of a deep draft and the happy expectation of getting phone calls.

So my draft has a pick at 17. Then not 32 and at least one other extra pick plus a return of a different 2nd rounder. Likely another 4th rounder. . But maybe a 4th and 5th. Heck. Could be another added to the 2nd round swap, depending where the ask comes from.

I just feel 32 ain’t happening. 25 to 65. Are pretty abnormally equal this year. Essentially. So heck ya, trade 32. Besides all that. If something doesn’t happen the calls create dialogue and I’d bet if 32 doesn’t move then 49 does.

    Day 1 - DL Bresee,
Day 2 - LB Sanders , Corner Ringo, Edge DJ Johnson, Safety J Brown.

it will be a great first two days and all anyone will
talk about before day three is how insane the Steelers are for not having taken a single O player to help Pickens and especially no OT. Cuz that’s what Steeler fans do.

Don’t understand - two trade backs and they only garnered an extra 3rd? I’m not tracking.
