    Eagles and Jalen Hurts reached agreement on a five-year, $255 million extension, including $179.304 million guaranteed, per source.

    Hurts becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history in a deal negotiated by Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports Group and Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman.

    A deal that "keeps the team together" after being gutted in Free Agency. The question is what kind of team will the Eagles have now? Deshaun Watson 2.0. A QB deal that effectively wrecks the league. Burrow and Herbert are going to demand more. At least Hurts and Burrow played in a Super Bowl.

    And Lamar Jackson demands even more than that guaranteed. Lol.

    QB contract extensions are a great thing for the team months after they are signed. Everyone hyperventilated when Mahomes and Allen signed. Now those deals look like bargains.

    Also the cap is predicted to be $256 million in 2024. This is hardly a team or league wrecking deal.

    Same with the freakout(s) over the OBJ contract numbers. He is getting paid like the 25th best WR in the league. I do not know if that is what he is but that is an on field production of like 60-70 catches and 900 yards.

    NFL contract numbers rise faster than our ability to reconcile with their adjusted values.

    Hurts deal is pretty much the same as the LaMar deal from what I am hearing.

    If I were a non QB player in this league I would demand at the next CBA that the players association put a percentage cap of somewhere around 8-10% on any position with relation to the total team cap. The cap is $224.8 million so 8% of that would be around $18/year. I mean after all the league loves social justice so why not embrace "equity" amongst pay. Still 8% of the team salary pool on a team made up of 53 guys is still a lot.
