I read that he no longer fits the Texans scheme. I have no idea if that’s true.

The reason.....

King didn't make the roster because of the other defensive backs. The Texans have a ton of young guys in their secondary, and they want to keep it young or younger so that they can develop talent, whereas King has already hit his ceiling. They signed 9 players to the PS so far and Gentry isn’t among them. Kind of surprising but I wont read into it yet since he may end up on the PS by the end of the day.

Gunner does not block well. Certainly not how the Steelers ask him to do it. If you want him to kinda push a DB out of the way along the sideline, giddy-up - Gunner can do that. But when they have him crashing down the end of the line and taking on front 7 players or when he has to come in from the slot and take on the run filling safety...look out - Gunner gonna get blowed up. I allow that it might be the fault of what they ask him to do and Gunner is game but he's a terrible fit at what they want.

Boykin being one of the top special team players on the field each Sunday has far more value than the Mighty Midget. There are like two dozen guys playing on college campuses right now that can do what Gunner O does. He's the new Jordan Dangerfield. Just stealing a paycheck.

I don’t disagree. It’s dumb. But they’re insistent on doing it. So get a bigger body out there.

One thing that was mentioned in a press conference was that Gentry was in a walking boot after the Falcons game. I know Tomlin said Gentry was fine so who knows.

Two of the most unheralded players that were really good pickups for the team. Tomlin loved MeMo and brought him in. Of course he gets no credit for that either.
