The play on second down is a perfect example of why not just any idiot can do what Purdy does. Johnson had his TE wide open for at least a 10 yard catch and run, but he was locked on to one side of the field and threw an incomplete shitball. Those are the kinds of plays that, if it had been thrown to Kittle, people go "oh, it's just an easy throw to a big playmaker." But a dumbass QB just flat-out misses it entirely. Trubisky would have missed it too, by the way.

Purdy has been very good for the 49ers and I think he is much better that Jimmy G and he deserve to be the starter for the 49ers in 2023 in week 1 but he was also in a great situation....No one have said that a practice squad player could do the same job that Purdy.....

The backup played most of the first half and got knocked out with a concussion. They basically have no QB for the entire second half.

I mean, they didn't even have any more QBs on the roster even if that was allowed. When your #1, 2, 3, and 4 quarterbacks are all injured, you're basically just screwed.

That is true. I wouldnt be surprised if it is changed next year though to allow a 3rd Qb to be stored on inactive list, only to be activated in an emergency. The NFL hates a game with no passing/
