its cool that he says we're the team no one wants to face but were not in yet, and we may not get in. but I agree that if we go get in the no. 2 seed (KC or Bengals) will have a game on their hands. And I can see an upset over cincy - if that happens Tomlin could be COY.
in any case we would be pegged as an up and coming team for 2023, specially with a good offseason (including bye Canada- hopefully)
The Steelers cannot score 20 points and have allowed 45 points per game in the playoffs since 2017. Eisen is a poor analyst. He's a nice guy but has awful takes.

How about letting everyone bask in the glow of meaningful football and the prospects of making the playoffs with a rookie quarterback and an extremely young offense.
I would love to see what this team could do in the playoffs and all the valuable experience that comes with that.
By the way, they currently have running game and this defense has TJ Watt, Heyward, Highsmith, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. I don't see them giving up 45 points to anybody if they are healthy.

100 times out of 100 I would select the team that has the most problem scoring points as my opponent and that will never change

Or, we're 4-12 at the moment because the O line was horrible at the beginning and Pickett got pasted so much he lost his mechanics a la Rick Mirer. Or, he turns into a one-look-flee-the-pocket-and-run QB and gets injured. Or...
If you want to become a good QB in this league,you must be good when you have adversity even you are rookie or you are in trouble,no matter what.Very few team have a perfect team....Maybe just the 49ers.....

While I believe this squad will be a force to be reckoned with in 1-2 years, right now's not their time.

I don’t think many top level team fear the Steelers (KC or the Bills) this season. Can we make it interesting going into the 4th quarter? Sure. Can someone we play have some bad luck and we win, sure. Do teams fear us? Nope, not yet. Maybe next season with a new OC and some DB holes filled.
To be honest,I don't think the steelers,pats or the dolphins with their 3rd QB are a threat for the powerhouse of the AFC
This. They don't have a true standout reciever and their pass coverage is terrible. The arrow is definitely pointing up and that's exciting however things have to mature and a handful of players need to be replaced before I trust the Steelers to be a true contender

Pickens is and will be a standout WR. We just have a OC who doesn’t understand how to game plan good enough to actually use him.
even if they miss the playoffs, i'll be happy with a dominant win. Kenny throwing 4 TD's and blowing out the browns 38-3

Joking aside, I do indeed think that defense is the #1 factor in the playoffs. Keep it close, and let Kenny pull it out in the end.
I disagree. Kansas City and Buffalo would swamp this team. Cincy is a better matchup, but their raw talent would put them over the Steelers.
For all the progress they made, they're still 1-2 years away from hanging with the big boys. If Pickett takes the big leap next season, they'll contend as soon as next year.
I mean we saw this same version of an approach get taken apart in the playoffs the past two years.
This years squad isn’t better than those teams.
