    Steelers playoff chances

Before Saturday's win, the NFL Network had the Steelers chances at 17.8%. Should've improved with how everything played out this weekend. Of course, it's still an uphill battle, but it's fun while it lasts.

    Question:

The Patriots (7-8) host the Miami Dolphins (8-7) on Sunday. Who needs to win, Patriots?

Tonight's game is also huge. Colts vs Chargers. Need the Colts to win.

To make the playoffs the steelers need to win their last 2 games and 3 of the next 4 scenarios.....

Jets lose in Seattle and win in Miami
Dolphins lose last 2 games in New England and at home vs Jets
Pats win vs Dolphins, lose in Buffalo
Chargers lose their last 3 games(Colts,Rams and Broncos)

#4 is the least likely. But the others are plausible.

For me, it'll be fun if they just stay alive all the way to week 18. Overall, there have been some rewarding aspects to the season and I am grateful to be a Steelers fan.

Yep. Miami and the Jets are in a downward trend.

Buffalo does not have the #1 seed locked up. KC and even the Bungles still have a shot at the top seed.

Tua is in the concussion protocol again. I think they lose out here, so the first 3 scenarios actually seem likely. The patriots should win against miami without Tua, but I don't see them beating Buffalo. Especially if Buffalo might still be playing for the #1 seed.

I guess we should cheer for KC to keep winning since Buffalo has the tiebreaker, last game for buffalo is meaningless if KC doesn't win out

KC face Denver at home in their next game!....The Bills could be in the 3rd seed after this week if they lose vs Bengals on MNF and KC win but the Bills hate the pats so much because of the Brady era that I think they will play to win no matter what!

KC has that habit of underperforming in trap games (sound familiar? haha). They came close to losing against the Texans a couple weeks ago, who are probably even worse than Denver

Playoffs are cool and all but to see them getting smacked for 3 years in a row? I wont be heartbroken if they miss out.

The Jets and Patriots are one game better plus both beat us head to head.

At this point I just want to lose out and get the best pick we can. A 9-8 season means NOTHING at this point except that Canada might be back.

I remember saying before Week 4, something like "All that starting Trubisky against the Jets will accomplish is that when there are two weeks left in the season and we need some improbable chain of events to make the playoffs, like the Jaguars winning on the road, or some team to win in the final week when they've already clinched the bye and they're resting all their starters - then we'll be able to look at this and go, 'Man, I sure wish we had that Jets game back.'"

Funny how those things work out.

Or the Pats game, or the Ravens game

So we need the Pats to beat the Phins and then both to lose the final week with us winning out obviously.

Yeah, strange how your playoff chances go from near 100 percent to near zero percent, when you throw away two very winnable games against two teams who turn out to be exactly who you are competing against for the wild card.

I guess you could make the same point about the Dolphins game too, but that was more a general failure of the shitty Canada offense, as opposed to the other two that were directly sacrificed to the ill-advised Trubisky experiment, on the altar of Tomlin's stubbornness.

Any way you cut it, we very likely would have made the playoffs with anything besides absolutely disastrous decision-making. But instead we will miss them because we straight-up shot ourselves in the balls. And guess what, the rebuildniks don't even get their high draft pick.

    Steelers: win out
    Titans: lose out
    Dolphins: lose out
Tapes: lose in final week (to Bills)
Jets: lose this week (to Seahawks)

According to the playoff sim, Ten and Jax can win out and it wont change anything (they play week 18 so winner of that game is in if they both win next week).

That is correct. (brain fart) Either the Jags or the Titans will win their division, and the other one is eliminated.

With the Titans playing Malik Willis over Josh Dobbs, I don't see any way they can win their division. I think they probably still lose with Dobbs but the odds are better since he probably actually knows the playbook.
The Jags offense has come alive lately.

Josh Dobbs should have won the starting Job in Cleveland based on preseason results , he played like a man possessed .... what he will look like as a Titan with basically no time to get ready is beyond me
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

Brissett did the job in the regular season for the Browns....It was normal that the Browns have been with the veteran and their 4-7 record was because of their very poor defense in the first 3 months.Very unlikely Dobbs would been better

don't know if he would have or not , point was he outplayed everyone in preseason from their QB room even when he played with the #1's

The sample is way too small to do that, and the only thing players want in preseason is to stay healthy....The last thing a team wants is a controversy especially at the QB position
