Once again, yes, I think Canada sucks. But I'm not going to obsess over it.
There was the Gatorade cooler, fighting with Roethlisberger, alienating self from teammates, special treatment at training camp, more fighting with Ben after Bens comments, benching Brown and then the meeting with Rooney and then the trade to the Raiders and AB trashing the Steelers throughout that process.

Like I said…taking Urban Meyers 13 week deal to be in a better place with the offense would be a cake walk.

Which was nothing compared to the lunacy he frequently displayed after he finally left. And there's no guarantee that the team would be in a better place right now. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

I’m not comparing what happened after. I’m just saying 13 weeks of Urban Meyer is nothing compared to years of AB with just Pittsburgh…which yes, is tame compared to what he’s become…

They’d be better than the second worst offense in the NFL, they have way too much talent not to be…I’ll take the potential and the unknown over 63 proven years of garbage with Matt Canada around and one more year coming…

Not sure exactly what the debate is...

Urban Meyer led the Jags to a 2-11 record before becoming 1 of 4 coaches to be fired before the end of the season. This season, the very next season after Urban Meyer, the Jags won their division and made it to the divisional round of the playoffs. That's how bad Urban Meyer was with the Jags.

    Carry on.

How much did we pay him to drop passes and score 0 touchdowns? His play set a dubious NFL record. Blame the Tomlin and Canada for his play. It is the Steelers MO among fans. The standard remains the standard. It's not Colbert's fault. This move to pay him 16.3 million on next years salary cap is Khan's.

To say we overpaid for a #2 WR is and understatemt.
The last time the Steelers won a playoff game it was 2016. That is six years ago. We are keeping the Jets and Lions company. The standard remains the standard.

    The “debate” is:

I’d rather suffer through 13 weeks of the Urban Meyer drama than 4 years of Matt Canada having influence on a shitty bottom dwelling offense. Putting up with the Urban Meyer Drama souldve been a cake walk in comparison to and drama.

you need to read what ryan clark had to say about AB's time with the steelers.

Gee, and I thought this was a Johnson thread. Yet another thread that turns in to a slam Canada.

Would that also include Clark's apology to Brown?

On a recent episode of the athlete-led “The Pivot Podcast”, NFL analyst and former Steelers safety Ryan Clark hosted his former teammate, Antonio Brown.

In their hour-long conversation, Brown spoke with Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor about his NFL career and his life after the NFL, which included an explanation behind Brown’s balaclava mimicking Kanye West’s recent trend.

Before they launched into these topics, Clark opened the hour with a sincere apology to Brown, stating that he should have reached out to him while on the team before critiquing him publicly.

“I should have been better as an OG and been better in the way that I dealt with you,” Clark said.

The thing is, Ryan Clark gets paid what I would imagine is really good money to say stuff. And the more controversial it is and the more mouse clicks it generates, the better.

And oddly enough, the criticism of Brown seemed a lot more muted when he was in the midst of making 5 straight All-Pro teams and 7 straight Pro Bowls when he was with the Steelers.

The bottom line remains the Steelers are still the only team that ever got any real production out of him.

Nailed it. No one really felt the need to say anything when AB was playing like an all time great.

Tomlin nailed it. He said that AB would be fine as long as his play could cash the checks his crazy was writing.

Not a new or unique story in sports.

    Yep

In the NFL, teams are able to deal with all the crazy shit any player does or any behavior that people view as distracting or disruptive.......until they can't.

As long as the crazy or asshole in a player can be overcome by on-field performance and team success, they deal with it. When the behavior gets in the way of success, it's time for that player to go.

I think that’s pretty easy answer and after the 13 weeks, who knows maybe they are trotting Doug Pederson or Brian Daboll out there right now…both with decent defenses and promising offenses instead of suffering through 4 years of an inept college offense that literally might be questionable as a high school offense at this stage.

What he said. If it takes getting worse to get better... I'm ready. Do I want to just keep having non losing seasons watching inept offense for a few more years. Hell NO
