highest paid NT in the game as of now
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
Good for him getting paid. I'm glad he didn't go to an AFC team.
Cox and Hargrave will cause havoc.
Eagles plays at Pittsburgh this upcoming season.
Eagles sign NT Javon Hargrave (3 years, $39 million): A Grade
The Eagles needed a replacement if Timmy Jernigan departed in free agency, and they certainly found one. They signed Javon Hargrave in what seems to be an excellent move.
Hargrave is a young nose tackle who stuffs the run extremely well and can also get after the quarterback. He projects as a terrific pairing with Fletcher Cox, and at $39 million for three years, this seems like a bargain, especially when compared to some of the other signings that occurred today. The Eagles may have missed out on Byron Jones, but this is a tremendous consolation prize.

Shame, he was a good player. I'm sure that Eagles D will dominate
Well, that sucks. He is going to flourish playing in that defense.
When are people who report on this for a living going to remember that DT and NT are different things. Eagles don't play a 3-4.
Glad to see a good player get paid who simply was not going to be paid market rate by the Steelers with Heyward & Tuitt on the roster
Could have been worse - PFF predicted last month that the Ravens would sign Hargrave

That was not as much as I had heard it rumored; I wish we had made a serious run at him. We are going to be in a world of hurt if either of our two remaining guys is out for any length of time.
See you Space Cowboy ...
we should get a good comp pick for him...
I see Buggs as the Hargrave replacement. Could still use a true NT in a 3-4 base, IMO, but I'm not the DC and this defense is playing well.
He will be irrelevant if teams can pass quickly on the Eagles...which unless they fix the backend, it’s not going to be difficult to do.
Good for him though. He was always one of my favorite “unsung heroes”.
This stinks. He was a great piece of our rotation in there and got pressure.
That's a shame for the Steelers good for the Eagles. He is a good player.
Only if they throw everything short. No team can throw everything short when playing against aggressive defenses that will press more to make the QB hold the ball. Cox is already a handful for teams all by himself. Adding Hargrave will really give them two guys that can disrupt and penetrate.
Sure, teams will try to get the ball off quickly to negate that. But my point is that having that inside pressure will dictate what offenses can do against them, and that plays into the defense's hands. That's the cause/effect of having a matchup advantage, and that's what every team is hoping to have...particularly up the middle.
And with Hargrave, Davis, Burns and Dirty Red gone, the 2016 Draft Class is all gone
It's ok we still have Dupree. Hahaha
Hater = Realist
Tom Brady has made a living off of short and mid-range passes off a quick release and the only way he was stopped was pressure up the middle that would result from his receivers being disrupted.
It’s not a bad thing having Cox and Hargrave by any means...that’s not what I am saying. The backend of the Eagles defense was horrendous. But that is all in the past.
Eagles trading for Darrius Slay...lol. That’s gonna hurt someone teams...
I thought I saw the Seahawks released Al Woods. Might be a decent depth pickup. I think he still has 1 game suspension for PED use.
Don't know if they can afford any of these guys:
Mike Daniels - had an injury marred 2019. But was last seen playing pretty well in 2018.
Timmy Jernigan - he's big. He mostly stuffs the run.
- - - Updated - - -
Damon Harrison - he will be cheap as a 32 year old after a poor season.
So basically a pick of over 30 ex-Lions with injury concerns or the guy the Eagles cut to get Hargrave into the line-up.
In a perfect world where everything works out great, Mike Daniels signs and returns to his form from his time in Green Bay and just is a complete anchor in the middle of a 3 man line.
I like Jernigan but he's been dealing with a lot of injuries lately. He would come cheap if I had to guess.
Just remembered that Dontari Poe is a FA, would be nice to land him. Not sure about his price. (He was loved by this fan base leading up to the 2012 draft)

All I know is this team better be ready to defend the run. Every team in the division has talented running backs, and the Ravens have the #1 rushing attack in the NFL.
Damnnnnnnnn I loved grave digger.
