So anyone who still isn’t sure if KP is our next franchise QB is just hating to hate. Last week and this week showed that he is clutch. His growth this season makes me think this team will get turned around and in SB contention next season or at most the season after.
Rocket man!

He doesn't have an amazing arm like Mahomes/Allen, Ungodly backyard ability like Ben, or a highlight reel like Lamar Jackson.
He just has "it". An unmatched moxie and a will to win. Even since he stepped on the field in Buffalo, he belonged.
The throw to Sims in the middle of the field was elite.
Nope. One drive doesn't prove anyone right or wrong (unless the statement is that he can't drive for wins, and I don't think anyone's said that). He still has middle-throw accuracy issues at times. But tonight's not the night to discuss that.
I thought he played fantastic tonight. Here's the positives I saw in particular:
- I love the fact that he showed so much control over the offense and playbook, which is something Ben struggled with early on (Hines Ward has mentioned how Ben would freeze up in the huddle his first year and Hines would step in and call the play... no shade on Ben, just typical rookie stuff).
- His decision-making was excellent. The only "meh" decision was not getting up when he fell. And even there, I understand the choice. It's the Ravens. Trying to make something happen on what is now a broken play can really backfire. So, live to fight another day (or another drive). He still had time to get up, but if that is as bad as his decision-making gets in a game, I'll take that every day. This is a backhanded way of saying I was pretty impressed with how he handled himself and made decisions all night.
- That throw to Pickens when Pickens laid out horizontal and caught it . . . go back and watch. The ball was almost on a frozen rope and thrown where only Pickens would get it.
- Two games in a row where he leads the team in a comeback win (and does so with a beautiful throw when it counts the most).
So, do I think he's the QB of the future? No. Not yet. I want to see him beat the sophomore slump (or simply evade it) and see if he can consistently play well while limiting his mistakes as he's done the last couple of games.
Do I think he is currently on track to be the QB of the future? It sure looks that way.
On the TD, Kenny motioned Najee to run out to the left. Reminiscent of Dan Marino and/or when Ben would motion to AB.
And, YES, I’m giving Kenny ALL of the credit (because eff Canada!!!).
https://twitter.com/OptaSTATS/status...73133967278080Kenny Pickett of the @steelers is the first rookie in NFL history to have a game-winning TD pass in the final minute of the 4th quarter in back-to-back games.
So he only passed for 164 yards with 1 TD, you know how many stat lines were like that with Ben vs the Ravens? Too many to probably count. They always play us tough
Formerly known as Fire Goodell
This is possible it will not take 21 years this time!...Very possible!
"Little Mittens." LMAO. Clark's funny.
This was old-school football tonight. I also have a feeling this game just rekindled the rivalry. It's felt flat the last few years with all the newer players. But there was as much intensity in this game as there was in any of the games over the last ten years against the Ravens.
I said it in the game day thread, but it probably belongs here. Thank goodness the Panthers, Lions, and Saints did not draft KP. I thought one of those teams would take him in the first. Also, thank God the Steelers drafted KP over Malik Willis.
In fairness, if read in context, his post was not a dig at Pickett but at the play calling. I would disagree with him and think the play calling this game was excellent. I was very happy we stuck to the run the entire game. But that's beside the point.
I love the fact that Tomlin put them in pads on Friday. I wonder if they ever have former players come talk to them about how to properly hate the Ravens? Then again, there's still one or two guys on this team that should remember the uglier days of the rivalry.
they’re all probably regretting it by now. It’s ok, we paid our dues by passing up on that other Pitt panther all those years ago. We were due to get it right.
on a side note, Najee is looking better, I didn’t like that pick, but it’s looking a little better after tonight
2 comeback wins is nice and all, but why were they comeback wins ? because they aint making enough plays and scoring enough points the first 59 minutes !! sub 200 yd passing and 1 TD aint gonna consistently get you wins. lets be realistic here. the only reason they were in position to win this game was because of the running game and baltimores offense was just a bit worse.
Steelers-Ravens rivalry have always been a close and low scoring game no matter who are in the lineup......The number of drives were also limited for both team in this game and the ravens have a great defense since Roquan Smith is with the ravens
True I would love to see the steelers to have more big play on offense and I hope it will come more in the future but at least they are able to be a ball control offense with very few 3 and out since the bye week
the steelers won every stat. 22 first downs (9 passing ,13 rushing) and 10/16 on 3rds downs, 0 turnovers in 9 drives. to only come away with 16 points is not good. KP made some nice plays he just aint making enough of them. he's a rookie in a horrible offense so it is understandable, but i think it is premature to predict big things for him. i need to see them win a game on his arm before i'm a believer.
The thing is that he give us hope for the future.Of course the steelers need a better OC,better o-line and have more big play.Pickett can improve again and he is much better now that he was in October.I think we can have hope he will be better next year after a full offseason with the team.We can hope for that. But yesterday was just a another classic Steelers-Ravens matchup.Never a high scoring game,no matter what who is in the roster
They hardly threw the football until the end of the game. You can't make plays when the ball isn't in your hands.
The other thing that some people don't realize is how difficult it is for a quarterback that hasn't thrown the ball a lot and hasn't gotten into a rhythm to suddenly have the outcome of the game depending on their arm with a long field and the clock winding down.
Don't blame Kenny Pickett for the Steelers being behind in this game. He made the most with the opportunities he had, and was absolutely clutch with everything on the line. This was a big time performance by KP.
