They are lucky that the Broncos are a total disaster or they would be last in points scored...The only comparaison is maybe the 1998 offense. It was awful in 2019, but at least they were not bad like that in the first 2 months

As much as I hate saying it, I think going back to Fichtner would be an improvement over Canada.
I just want to find the part of the playbook that throws passes BEYOND the sticks and isnt the same 1st down runs with a RB averaging 3ypc putting you behind schedule each and every possession and between those two major flaws leads to more 3 and outs than anything else ...
if they do not make a change on the buy week then the whole staff needs to go at seasons end because the conversations should already be happening ( should have happened last year ) but we got sold a bill of goods that the only reason the offense looked that way was because Ben wasnt mobile enough to operate Canads full system ...
WELL news flash
Mitch is Mobile .....
Kenny is Mobile....
why are the results the same , why does the system still suck , sure they are rolling out now but still throwing the same 4 - 8 yard patterns on 80% of the pass attempts and the QBs take the heat for the flawed system that would Make Mahomes look bad
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
And that our WR wasn't good enough!
Canada and Fitchner before him (even if it was not that bad) waste of talent that we have...JuJu in KC look like the same player he was with us in 2017 and 2018.Close to 500 yards after 7 games and he has over 10 yards per target and 14 yards per catch. He had under 9 yards per catch in the last 2 years with us!
I would guess Canada's full system consists of 10 total plays, and with Ben they scrapped 2 roll-out plays.........so Ben only ran 80% of the offense.
I remember when the Steelers last year went to their "hurry up" offense at times and they moved the ball down the field. They even moved it last night when Picket went no huddle. I also seem to remember Ben describing times where he was drawing up plays in the dirt, and they worked in the game. I would love to be a fly on the wall when the Steelers players are talking amongst themselves about the offense and Canada's game plan/play calling. They have to be as frustrated as the fans are.

The playcalling is so predictable its maddening. The opposing defense knows that Najee will get the ball on 1st down and run off tackle for precisely 2 yards followed by some stupid gadget play or jet sweep. Pickens will catch anything you throw to him but for some reason he wasn't targeted in the 2nd half.
Pretty solid race to the bottom for this offense and the 1990-91 versions. I haven't looked at the numbers. But Walton's squad didn't score a TD for a month. There was that 1998 Ray Sherman debacle. And I think Gilbride ran a unit into the ground as well.
Seriously, what is Todd Haley up to now? Besides being liquored up?
comparing this offense to the 89s or 89s when you could actually play defense. nah. apples and oranges this offense exists in a world where the greatest show on turf is just what is expected now.
what I mean is they suck really bad

Bring in Matt Nagy to replace Canada. He's an assistant in KC and they would probably allow him to interview. In a way I really don't care if we go 4-13. We NEED to have a season like that so people finally realize it's NOT okay to continue to accept Tomlin barely scraping above .500 as "success".
I was initially against firing Canada mid-season, but to be honest I'm all for it now

i gues some of you arent old enough to remember ron earhardt or joe walton. chuck noll had some real stinker OC's. the difference is chuck got rid of them after 1 season of suck. well chuck or dan got rid of them.
Wow, he may be right. I thought we were bad in the 80's but looking back at the stats, we were 9th in ppg in 85, dropped to lower half of the league in 86 and 87, then bounced back up to middle in 88.
Right now were next to last.
We have better offensive personnel now then when did then imo, this has got to start with Canada
The worst rankings for the steelers on offense since 1970 is 28th(on 30 teams) in 1998.Right now they are 31st in points scored.Only the Broncos are worst right now. They are also 30th in yards. They were 25th in 1998.
Yeah this is likely the worst steelers offense in the last 50 years
It’s just bad all over on offense. OC, QB, RB are all terrible. WR group is underachievers. O-line is the least of the evils, but still evil.

I think Canada gets fired at the bye.
Yeah, there's a difference between a conservative offense that usually makes a few first downs and at least does some things with ball control and field position, and one that always goes three-and-out and just sucks.
If you run a stupid offense where you try for 4 yards at a time, that means if you have like one bad play or holding penalty out of every 10 plays, that's a punt. We make way more mistakes than one out of 10 plays. That's difficult enough to do when you aren't already setting yourself up for failure.
See you Space Cowboy ...
At one point basically the entire league ran some version of Erhardt's offense.
But...yeah...that dude sucked!
Worst, 2nd worst, 10th worst, all I know is it is bad right now. Really bad. And not due to lack of talent and playmakers.
Some coaches pray for wisdom. I pray for 260-pound tackles. They’ll give me plenty of wisdom.
