PLEASE! If that makes people feel better……..
Funny how this works. If that was someone we didn't like saying it to a coach we liked, there would be outrage. People calling the team undisciplined. Tomlin's lost the team! But, since Canada is not liked, this is great! We love it!
It's a double standard if you ask me. If Boswell is saying that to Canada and they have it on tape, there should be consequences (and perhaps, there are and we don't know about them, which would be fine).
Consequences??? My opinion...no. If it was even said as advertised, you let men have their voice....especially if it was what the Coach WANTED badly to say anyway. I have called out my Boss(who happens to also be the Owner), aggressively, in front of staff for making stupid decisions that could affect them. It took a minute to heal, but our "team" is best of the best in our segment....nationally. He would do anything for me and likewise I for him. I think Canada came in with a level of arrogance(not sure why), and now maybe the best thing for his career is a public bitch slapping. Either he changes or he goes. Hopefully soon.
However, your scenario was still in house. If you did that in front of your clients or customers, what would happen? In 99 percent of jobs, you'd be fired. This isn't about letting them have their voice. It's about keeping what is said in-house. There's a very big difference between the two.
Perhaps, but it is still wrong and makes anything else a poster says about that same subject at other times (sharing things in public that should remain private) ring completely hollow.
Meh... It may or may not be true, but it's fun to speculate. Sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment. I'm sure we're all guilty of that at some point in our lives.
I think the players should anonymously take out a billboard declaring Canada a failed experiment....lol
