He did just well enough to pull it out for sure. I give credit to Claypool for finally having a game!

This is giving us shades of 2019. The Steelers may have to keep switching QB's.

He did something productive this game. I'll give him that.

    Mitch made some great plays.

Claypool was a hero in this game. Let's trade him.

Where was this Mitch Trubisky in the first four games?

He played like a man wanting to prove his career wasn't over. Okay . . . he is a man wanting to prove his career isn't over.

He came off the bench with no expectations. Trubisky always plays loose when he doesn't have the spotlight on him. Now that he may be starting next week, we'll see if this continues.

Let's not forget... He had some good plays, but he had some shitty ones, as well.

Who would have thought that a QB making some average throws and a WR actually catching them could produce positive results?

I bet Canaderr is really confused right about now.

If that's the case and Pickett can't play next week, I suggest we put Mason Rudolph in for a quarter and then bench him for Trubisky.

Mitch played very well despite a shitty playbook.

It's worse than the playbook, its the gameplans and playcalling that truly suck. Canada actively sabotages the offense because he gets too conservative and can't keep his finger off the button. Every drive we need to play a fucking Jet sweep somewhere. There were very good plays early on, like the outside throw to Najee for a TD, but then we go back to the same unimaginative bullshit we saw for the first five weeks with no shots downfield. The playcalling in the second quarter was absolute dogshit. I said it last week in Buffalo, the coaching and playcalling blew, it struck again here.

No Quarterback is going to truly thrive in this offense because of this clown. Mitch will hold it down, then the Canada effect takes hold, then he sucks again, then we go back to Pickett and keep switching on and on.

I've officially lost patience with Canada. He's trash.

I’ve been saying that since last year. It’s clearly a high school offense and game plan. It’s not creative even a little bit.

The Quarterbacks play better when they go off the script and just make things happen, but when they start practicing and playing within Canada's structure, they start to struggle.

Re: Credit to Mitch for this game

So I watched some bad Big 10 football on Saturday. And I noticed that the passing offenses were all designed to get a specific pass catcher open at a specific distance on each play. The other routes were not really being run to present the QB with viable options. Just move defenders out of the way of where the offense really wanted to go with the ball.

Then I watched the same thing for stretches of Sunday's Steelers game. Canada needs to go.

And those of you that have been around for the years I have been posting know that it usually takes a lot for me to get to the point that I am calling for firing people.

At least he can come off the bench and play well. Still this should be KP’s team this year

I’m happy to give Mitch credit. He deserves it. He made plays when he had to.

But let’s be honest. When you hold the other team to 18 points you really should win pretty much every time.

These are the kinds of games I has hoping for this year. Of course my expectations were based on our defense being healthy. To do it with this MASH unit was pretty unbelievable.

Yes but Mitch did not play the entire game and Canada is just awful as always

Both quarterbacks played well. They took what was available and didn't make the big mistake. They took care of the ball and made a few plays by using their legs and extending plays.

Claypool was a monster today. He was catching the ball with little guys on him and dragging them down the field. They put LB's on him, and he was able to shake free from them, or they didn't have enough ball awareness to deny him the ball. Big day for Chase.

Yeah, I totally agree that Mitch, and also Kenny, did very well given that they are handcuffed by Canada’s playbook and play calling. And from what I understand, it’s extra difficult because many of his play designs don’t have a secondary option that you can audible to, even if you see that the defense has you dead to rights pre-snap. That’s the impression I got when Pickett was asked about it in an interview. His answer was as diplomatic as possible, but the gist of it seemed pretty clear.

So I’m in no way faulting the QBs for only generating 20 points in this game. I think we scored that much in spite of Canada.

Mitch did a solid job today, but I think this is what his calling is. He is Charlie Batch. A player drafted well beyond his spot and not a franchise QB, but finds a niche as a backup where he can play for a long time.

It actually feels nice to have a rookie starting QB that seems to be doing well, AND a backup we can count on. (If only for this game)

I hope Kenny passes concussion protocols, but Mitch might start another game. I’d certainly rather that than to take any chances rushing Kenny back before he’s fully healed.

Mitch was solid, props when it’s due. Happy for him and to get the W against Brady in what’s likely our last meeting with him

They were not showing the game here, but the play-by-play sure sounded like we were trying to beat Tom Brady with small ball, and basically it worked for the first drive, and then we kicked field goals and got a lot of luck, is that about right?

Not really. They pretty much outplayed Tampa today. The defense really held them down today.

This felt more like two teams that were pretty even today, but the Steelers made a few more plays.
