    I'd say at min a 1st round selection ....

Gruden was worth what a couple 1st rounders I believe from Raiders all those years ago and Tampa cashed in with a SB win over those same Raiders
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now

HC trades the past 25 years:

    1) Belichick from #Jets to #Patriots for 1st, 4th, 7th.

    2) Gruden from #Raiders to #Bucs for two 1sts, two 2nds and $8M in cash.

    3) Holmgren from #Packers to #Seahawks for a 2nd round pick.

    4) Parcells from #Patriot to #Jets for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

    Per the report by
    @AdamSchefter
, it's possible the #Saints will ask for more than a 1st for Sean Payton, according to what league sources believe.

"The Saints believe Payton.. is worth what other great coaches have been valued at and then some."

It would have to be beyond what the Gruden deal would be if I am the Saints. I start talking at 2-first (2024, 2025), 2-second (2023, 2024) and 2-third (2023, 2025)...

Probably the 2 first, second (those four are non-negotiable), a third and maybe a 5th...but I would really play hard ball and stick to the 2 3's for as long as I could. I'm also doing them the favor of spreading it over three seasons as to not deplete their drafts.

What teams are in position to make a trade like that for a HC? 20 current HCs were hired in 2020 or after.(counting interims)

Panthers and Colts to start. Panthers have a lot of picks due to the McCaffrey trade. No team should consider it though but clearly teams have in the past…

The Colts are one of the interim teams, but I don’t think they have the roster to afford losing the draft picks, or the draft picks to get into that deal. Although, I could see the Saints talking with the Colts.
I really don’t think the Saints would make any deal within the division. No Panthers, Buccs, or Falcons trade happens for Sean Payton. Just my opinion.

Maybe the Raiders get Sean Payton AND Tom Brady!!!

I think any team that would do a deal for a coach is insane. I don’t think Payton is worth that but people do, he’s a media darling, so the hype is there and if I’m the Saints, I hold him hostage.

Both those teams listed have the draft picks…Panthers have an over abundance with the McCaffrey deal…whether they are willing to part ways and what kind of salary cap space they have is questionable. I think the Panthers should stick with their interim coach as he’s getting a lot out of those players. Even Sam Darnold looks better than normal.

He was 61 when he started.

I think Marv Levy was 60+ when he started at Buffalo…

He could coach for 10-12 more years.

So that wouldn’t be any different than Payton getting on tomorrow with somebody.

If an NFL ship comes in for Jim Harbaugh, he's reportedly ready to climb aboard.
