Honestly,
2 Plays really cost us. Other then that we really were in a good position to win this game.
Nelson Ahalor TD -- He made an incredible play on 3rd and long --- Witherspoon went for a basket catch INT... Rather then fighting and deflecting for an incomplete pass... Situational football , know when to do the safe play.
Gunnar O...- Doinked the punt return. Gave New England the ball on the 20.
Well, we had 3 chances to get into FG range at the end of the game to tie it up, we got zero 1st downs. Our defense put us into a position to win this game. This is all regardless of the muffed punt and missed INT. We needed to gain 50 yards and had multiple chances. Again, we gained less than 30 on 3 different tries. At this point, the OC needs to be replaced first. MT is garbage, but the OC is worse. Would it get better with KP? Maybe, cause he can hit the open targets down field (from what we saw in the preseason), but will Canada give him any targets to hit?
With the way the offense perform, everytime our defense give up a TD,this is a big blow for the steelers
Yup. That’s the biggest problem. If you look around the league, few teams are laying a 3 phase ass whoopin on teams each week.
But the “true contenders” are creating a bit of margin for error here or there. If you drop a coverage, miss a block, turnover, whatever you can survive it and still win because you have other things going well.
Right now this team seems to need 2+ turnovers from the defense, under 20 points allowed, last possession, and a few lucky bounces each week to grit out a win. That’s a big ask.
I disagree. Teryl Austin utilized his strength (DBs) and didn’t worry about trying to get a pass rush with more than 4 guys. Force Jones to throw into coverage… and hope he makes a mistake. It worked well, except for that lucky TD pass.
Take away the BEAVER (that’s for you, steelreserve) and our defense holds them to 10 points.
It is a Safety: if the offense commits a foul in its own end zone or; when an impetus by a team sends the ball behind its own goal line, and the ball is dead in the end zone in its possession or the ball is out of bounds behind the goal line.

Maybe i'm missing something but to me the rules say its a safety
A game that should've been won.
Not without TJ or an offense that can give their D a breather at least once in a while. With TJ I like the defense's chances against anybody. They just play on a different level, but seem bland without him. Sorta like the Mid-late 2000's defenses with / without Polamalu
