but they vote for guys who they feel are great leaders and starters .... nobody voted the backup or 3rd string guy team captain
I will trust the players on who they feel is the best guy for the job after all they see them at their best and worst every single rep of practice and game , they practice with and against them ...
what better manner is there to decide who is who on the team than the guys that are their daily

fairly easy concept and its pretty normal to not have every day starters of the offense or defense as the special teams captains

I know. I was kidding. Killebrew just seems like such a random choice, but I’m not on the team so I don’t have any reason to believe he isn’t the best choice as ST captain. I guess I would have expected it to be D. Watt for whatever reason.
Who was the ST captain last year? Wasn’t it Watt? Or am I just assuming?
Boswell would been a much better choice for the special team....
As far as talent and resume goes, for sure. But it does seem kind of weird to appoint a kicker as any kind of leader. It’s kind of a solitary job. Also he’s not on ST for punts. Just kick offs and FGs.

*I’ll make an exception for Pat Mcafee. He was probably never a ST captain but he was a guy that definitely pumped up his teammates. Especially when he made tackles.
Boswell doesn’t play special teams though. He’s just a kicker. I think the thought process behind Killebrew is that he’s on both units.

Watt spends more time in the hot tub than he does on the field , honestly I think its a hidden verbiage in TJ's contract that they keep DJ because he sure as hell hasn't earned 1 year of his contract to date here ... Contract Terms: 3 yr(s) / $9,750,000 .... 1 rush for 1 yard , 3 catches for 15 yards in the 2 years he has been here ... no thats not his worst season that are the 2 years combined (4 starts )
