    Malik Reed

Steelers make a trade for Broncos LB Malik Reed. Will be a backup to Watt and Highsmith.

Hamilcar Rashed was released. Tuszka is for Danny Smith

Weighing in at just over 6 million pounds, how are offensive linemen going to move him?

Yes, and according to Steelers Depot he put on 6,012,000 pounds! I'm not sure what is more impressive, weighing that much or running a 4.85 40 with all that weight!

They needed some depth. They cut every backup edge except Tuszka.\

Avery already released by the Bucs.

He's a slow 40 time guy (4.85) so that's why his draft stock dropped. But he put up 8 and 5 sacks respectively the past two seasons. He's a decent backup for sure.

I think all of us knew they're were looking for depth at OLB and more O-linemen.

its not when its what you do with the opportunity you have been given ... so at this point they are all at the same level just some making more money while they wait

I think for pass rushers the 3-cone is more important. Quick is more important than fast when it comes to getting by a lineman. I don't know the exact combine numbers (and too lazy to look them up right now), but supposedly he had a very good 3-cone time

6.89 seconds, which is an outstanding 3-cone time.

    40-time doesn’t matter that much.

I think it does. Some guys play faster in pads. But it matters. It mattered with Jarvis Jones (4.9). It matters with Spillane. It just depends on the player.

Exactly. Unless he's chasing Lamar Jackon, who no LB is going to catch anyhow. Now if they have him covering receivers out of the backfield then he's toast. Hopefully the days of LB'ers covering receivers is over.

The days of LBs covering receivers will never be over.
