    A Franchise QB

This might be a Steelers thread, but how often in recent history has one “franchise” QB been followed by another. Rogers is the only one I can think of. Luck could have been after Manning, but he got out while he could. Just a reminder, there will never be another Ben for the Steelers. So we will have to figure out another way to win SBs.
A lot of similarities between Bradshaw and Ben. Both fearless, both like to throw in to coverage, and both knew how to win.

    Rivers-Herbert would qualify IMO.

Depends on how you define ‘franchise QB’. If both must have a SB ring then there are very few. Favre and Rodgers, Montana and Young, maybe a few more going back.

I’d go with Hall of Fame or near Hall of Fame achievement or trajectory.

I think both would be considered franchise QBs. Another good definition of a FQB is one that you plan on riding with for 10-12 years.

    Patriots: Bledsoe-Brady

    (Oilers): Moon-McNair
    Steelers: Bradshaw-Malone-Brister-O'Donnell-Stewart-Maddox-Roethlisberger
    Bengals: Anderson-Esiason, then Kitna-Palmer-Dalton-Burrow
Browns: Graham-Plum, then Sipe-Kosar (with a one year gap)
    Ravens: Flacco-Jackson

    Texans: Carr-Schaub
    (Titans): Moon-McNair
    Colts: Unitas-Jones, then George-Harbaugh-Manning-Luck
    Jaguars: Brunell-Leftwich

    Broncos: Morton-Elway-Griese-Plummer
    Chiefs: Dawson-Livingston, then Montana-Grbac-Bono-Green, then Smith-Mahomes
    Raiders: Lamonica-Stabler, then Schroeder-Hostetler-Gannon
Chargers: Hadl-Fouts, then Brees-Rivers-Herbert (poor Stan Humphries on an island)

The funny thing about the chargers is that their lone super bowl berth was with Stan Humphries as QB!

    Now let's do NFC.

Cowboys: Meredith-Staubach, then Romo-Prescott (poor Troy all alone)

    Eagles: Jaworski-Cunningham, then McNabb-Vick
    Football Team: Jurgensen-Kilmer-Theismann

    Bears: Masterson-Luckman, then McMahon-Harbaugh
    Lions: Peete-Mitchell, then Harrington-Kitna-Stafford
    Packers: Rote-Starr, then Dickey-Majkowski-Favre-Rodgers
    Vikings: Tarkenton-Kramer-Gannon-Moon

    Falcons: Chandler-Vick-Ryan
    Panthers: Delhomme-Newton
Saints: n/a (Manning and Brees out on islands...)
Buccaneers: Testaverde-Dilfer, then Winston-Brady (sidebar: imagine saying "Steve Young sucks, let's keep Steve DeBerg)

    Cardinals: Hart-Lomax, then Palmer-Murray
    Rams: Waterfield-VanBrocklin-Wade-Gabriel, then Warner-Bulger
    49ers: Albert-Tittle-Brodie, then Montana-Young-Garcia-Smith
    Seahawks: Zorn-Krieg, then Kitna-Hasselbeck-Wilson

Humphries, Means, Pupunu, Bieniemy, Coleman, Carney, Seau, Harrison... that was kind of a bad-ass team tbh, I think they just didn't have a big-time WR.

    Imagine .......

4 games , 1 start ... ZERO targets and cut

10 years in the league .... 5k yards receiving in which 2700 of them came in 2 seasons in Pittsburgh ( 1307 in 95 and 1398 in 97 )
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now

Thankfully, we got him… otherwise my cousin’s dog would have been named “something” not nearly as cool as Yancey.

Are you talking about Kirk Cousins? Everyone knows he's not a franchise quarterback.

Staubach-Danny White (i hate the cowboys)
    Tarkenton-Kramer
    Billy Kilmer-Theismann
    Moon-McNair

I hated McNair, it seemed like we never won vs that guy. I remember watching one game where we came really close to beating the titans then the nedney flop happened. I kicked the shit out of my trash can after that game

Bledsoe was definitely a franchise QB IMO.

Agree. Now that I've read the whole thread I see someone had Bledsoe/Brady already.

Bledsoe was a disappointment though in my opinion. Yes the Patriots went to a SB with Bledsoe but that was with Parcells on the sideline.
