Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
I got to say, the fans booing Rudolph when he entered the game are f'n losers.
I was chanting Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuudolph.![]()
i think its a bit early to put pickett on a pedestal. if im not mistaken i only remember seeing one completion that traveled over 10 yards and that was the last TD pass. fact is most of his completions were only 5 yards or less from the LOS. here i thought we were tired of the dink and dunk shit.
here is how far every completed pass Traveled through the air past the LOS (including 2 point conversion) . im not busting picketts balls, just saying he didnt exactly put on a passing clinic. what we saw from pickett is exactly what steeler fans have complained about the last few years. not pushing the ball down field. how much of this was by design for this game to get him comfortable we can only speculate. hopefully next week the playbook will open up a bit more.

here is every pickett play
Air yards is the single most over-rated stat in all of sports.
depends on the context. all im pointing out is he didnt make any tough throws. if a high school QB had the very same throws in a game it wouldnt make me think this kid is good or is college QB material. again...im not shitting on pickett, just saying this game shouldnt have swayed anyones opinion of him one way or the other. i would say his most impressive play of the game was the sack he avoided.
they played it safe with Pickett, Tomlin said as much. Dink and dunk game management against 2nd and 3rd stringers. He was successful at it but they should have him open it up a little more next game. they have to see what their number 1 pick can really do.
Like i said, 2 years of watching an end of the line Ben and every average QB in the league was looking all world to some of us and every little thing our rookie QB does right is magnified. Got to take it in context.
It was his first game and the steelers wanted to make sure he was comfortable.
But yes, in the next 2 games, I hope the steelers will open up a little more with him and also that he will play with at least the second unit and or the third unit
But, what I liked, his decisions were quick in this game....no hesitation

Yeah I agree on that
Air yards doesn't always tell the whole story (Mahomes was in the bottom in the league last year but that was because of the way the opposing defenses were playing against him) but when the defenses challenge your arm, you have to make them pay. ..We will see in the future if Pickett will be able to do this
I have my doubts , but I also hope I am wrong as he is a steeler now so .....
I think he has a decent intermediate ball and that could be enough ...Brady made a career out of dink and dunk and then slam you with a 17 yard pass ... it doesnt have to be 40-60 yarder kind of deep ball that 17-25 yard pass can be a dagger in the throat of a def too ( 1 of those with a few dink and dunks flip a field in a hurry ) ... so while I am doubtful I am hopeful

Yes, and if that is the almost pick over the middle, Rudolph showed good feet as he moved from read to read. I liked that rep from him.
But then, something like 2 or 3 plays later he sailed a hook to a receiver on the right hash, because his legs were pointing down the left seam. Same old bad habits from the last 4 years.
Likely not true but we never know
For reals? Or just for the lols?
Dang! I got all excited.
I don't see the Steelers wanting to trade Mason unless they're getting a fourth or better.
I don't see Mason wanting to be traded unless he'll be getting the inside track at earning a starting job.
He's not going to be given a shot to supplant Goff in Detroit nor Flacco in NYJ. On the Jets, once Wilson is recovered Mason will be a QB3, no better than he is now -- plus he'll be on the Jets. sounds awful. If he went to the Lions, we'd be giving Detroit a proven backup while giving ourselves a rookie backup.
Let the Lions/Jets go sign McCarron or Newton or something.
