    Division Sweeps in the Steelers' Division

    In summary, the Steelers' division has been swept by the Steelers 5 times (2017, 2008, 2002, 1994, and 1975)
    And by each of these teams once:

    Ravens: 2011
    Bengals: 2009
    Oilers: 1993
    Browns: 1951
    Eagles: 1949
    Giants: 1935

    AFC Central: (1970-2001)

    Steelers: 1994, 1975
    Oilers: 1993

    *Until 94 most divisions had 5 teams and 8 divisional games per team but the AFC Central had just 4 teams and 6 divisional games per team.
    *In 1989 the Bengals went 5-1 in divisional play but finished last place in the AFC Central.
    *In 1995 the Jaguars entered the league and joined the division, bringing the division up to 5 teams
    *In 1996 the Browns became the Ravens
    *In 1997 the Oilers moved from Houston to Nashville, and in 1999 formally changed their name to the Titans
    *in 1999 the Browns rejoined the division as a new franchise that was entitled to the original Browns' history. This brought the division up to 6 teams compared with most divisions' 5

    *Yanks existed 1944-1948, and were the Bulldogs in 1949 only
    *Steelers-Eagles merged for 1943 season (Steagles)
