Calvin Ridley suspended for the 2022 season for gambling on NFL games.
One report I saw said "at least" the 2022 season.
He might be done.
Wow. Don't do an interview w/Jim Gray
What did he do

kind of dumb IMO , I mean the guy barely played , he was off the team for what seemed like most of the year , wasnt in meetings , had no bearing on outcomes and wasnt even with the team .... he was no more of an influence on what was happening than you or me ...
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now
Ridley suspension is the message to not dink around with the NFL's gambling cash.
The league is looking to ride the gambling gravy train into gazillions. For that to work, everyone has to think the game is free from interference and played on the level. Players betting on games is just gonna get stamped out with as big of a hammer as tye NFL can find.
But, it is dumb. Like you said.

(Typical NFL broadcast): Oh, look! Another Caesars sportsbook betting app commercial! Fifth one in the last 2 minutes!
Sorry Rog, but the NFL lost what little moral high ground it still may have had on the gambling issue when it went for the cash grab of moving a team to Vega$.
Yeah, I get it... it's kinda hypocritical, but everyone knows the rule.
Also, the $1500 has been reported as 3 parlay bets, with at least 1 including the Falcons.
So, betting on your own team is probably something no sport wants any part of...
even if he wasn't actively on the field at the time.
There's nothing hypocritical. If the NFL is going to get in bed with gambling sites, the only way that will work is if the players and coaches aren't involved in betting. It's like having a raffle and not permitting your employees to enter. That's not hypocrisy. Apples and oranges.
I'm curious to know if they are looking into the allegations that Steven Ross told his Head Coach to tank games?
Seems like a WR betting $1500 total on games that didnt involve his teams and getting 1 year suspension, compared to an Owner intentionally tanking games that could affect Millions of $$ of bettors is not even the same thing. One is online wagering, the other is Point Shaving.
1) he wasnt with the team at the time so he himself had no bearing on the outcome ....
2) I would have a bigger problem if a player was betting AGAINST his team as that is something he could have some amount of control of IF he was actually with the team when it occurred in which he was not

The credibility of the betting is in jeopardy if players or coaches are betting on the game. Regardless of where Ridley was, he was part of the team and is in contact with current players. He could have an advantage (as any player could) before placing his bets.
