    Pat Freiermuuuuuth is Really Good

Not that PFF is gospel, but Muth was their top-rated blocker for all TEs.

Likewise, stats can lie, but Muth caught 26 passes on third down… which was the most third-down receptions for any TE in the NFL. (15 of those were converted into first downs.)

Almost all TEs show major growth as players in year 2-3.

Whoever’s at QB is gonna love this dude.

What, the top blocker?? I thought the narrative was that he could not block and rookie TE's dont contribute right away, so he was gonna take a couple seasons to be any part of the Steelers offense?? Got lucky I guess.

Great young player, great teammate and if he stays healthy a pro bowl TE for a good long time.

I don’t know where that narrative came from but being a PSU fan, I watched him a lot and he was always a good blocker. He’s have the occasional gaffe every now and again but what player doesn’t at the college level?

from folks that didn't want to draft a TE in R2.

Despite what PFF might say, Muth was not the run game unlocking blocker that was being talked about pre draft. He, right now, does enough to not Ebron or Jesse James himself. But let’s not pretend he’s making devastating blocks that are springing the RB for long gains. Many talked about just that prior to the draft.

He certainly seems capable of getting there, but it’s not happened yet.

I remember seeing a few times that he threw some blocks that sprung some runners for greater yardage. A couple of the jet sweeps went longer due to his blocking. I only remember because it stuck out. But he could use some NFL level work as well.

Sure he can block and catch, but can he long snap or punt?
