As a Marshall fan, I couldn't be happier for Byron. He has a chance to take a team from rags to riches with a potential franchise QB and lots of high draft picks.

Jags are going to screw up their coaching hire to keep Baalke as GM?

Baalke was awful in San Fran. Has been awful with the Jags. But this is the hill that Jax wants to die on?

Goodness! This is a poorly run organization.

Vic Fangio is considered as head coach!

And that is ordinarily not the worst idea that a team ever had...except Fangio isn't an offensive guy and the ONLY thing the Jags have going for them right now is Lawrence.

Pairing an exciting young QB with an exciting young offensive minded head coach would be logical and stuff. So...I guess the Jags will just do the opposite?

I read that it is all because Lefty wants to bring Adrian Wilson from AZ in as his GM and the Jags both want to keep Baalke and not let their new HC dictate terms to them.

Well, we know that a new, rookie head coach isn't gonna be given the power to choose his on GM. Maybe Byron doesn't like the situation there and sees this as a good way to take himself out of contention without saying no?

Why are they going to the mat for Baalke? He’s objectively awful at his job.

Leftwich is evidently withdrawing his name from the Jaguars head coach search.

wouldn't mind seeing the steelers bring him in as OC and Tomlin's eventual successor. Him and Munchak would be great additions...

Welcome to the 21st Century, where the day of newsprint editors doesn't exist. Prior to the internet most media outlets had the last person the story had to be run by called the editor (think Perry White in Superman). This person's job was to read the article and call bullshit before letting it be published. But that layer is now gone.
