Early in Roethlisberger career, some offensive guys got some jobs because they’d proven they could grow a young QB. Then Ben got established and you don’t really have offense success because of fancy scheme but because Ben’s just ludicrously good.
Same on defense. Capers got a job because he was the next best thing to Lebeau. Now, it’s Tomlin or no one. He’s not going anywhere.
If my memory serves, across the league when you have a top flight QB that transcends scheme, offensive coaches don’t really pan out.
