When trying to compile a list of 1st round worthy prospects that fit the Steelers, I keep listing about '200' players. This draft is so deep just about everywhere.
I think at this point we can safely take RB off the board at pick 20.
I feel safe saying pick 20 will not be a TE, and with the signing of Myles Jack I have taken out the ILBs as well.
NFL WRs have become such a DIVA position I hesitate to put them into the 1st round conversation, but there are some guys(5-6) in this draft that would be very hard to pass over if there at 20.
The OL is still an unknown for the Steelers and there are about 6-7 prospects that make sense for the Steelers in the 1st round.
QB is a top option because as of today the Steelers don't have an established one. Add in another 5 prospects here.
When talking OLB everybody says "quality depth". Yet here again there are 5-6 names that could fall into the 20th overall pick, including Ojabo who probably will miss the 2022 season.
I find another 5 DL prospects that fit the Steelers and could be the day 1 pick.
The secondary is where I simply cannot cut it down to a reasonable number. So many shiny things. Between Safety and CB I am currently at 10-14 possible names that would make great Steelers.
I have it narrowed down to 35-43 possible names the Steelers could be drafting at pick 20. Even if the boards go exactly as the 'experts' predict and 19 of those names come off this list prior to the Steelers' pick, I am still at 16-24 prospects to choose from AT pick 20.
My heart says use pick 20 and get the best possible Steeler on the board. My head says trade back and get 2.
