Ben Roethlisberger privately has told former teammates and some within the organization that he expects this to be his final season playing quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, league sources told ESPN.

Turnover Tommy damn near cost us the postseason in 2005 - if Ben would have missed one more game, the run would have never happened.

If only we had a 2nd year Roethlisberger waiting in the wings...

I distinctively remember believing Cowher wore his pro-bowl Hawaii t-shirt through the entire season, too, like he was still on the island the entire year, mentally. Ben had his accident, but Cowher essentially retired-on-active-duty at that point, too. That was the season the Ravens owned them, 27-0 and then 31-7.

It's been reported that Tomlin doesn't want a rookie QB next year...... Ben rumored to be telling teammates that he will be retiring after this season (no big surprise)......could it all be smoke and mirrors???

Ben resigns for one more year...... or... we sign a second tier veteran QB on the cheap side.....we take a QB in the draft and sits until Ben or or Vet QB gets hurt. Rookie QB goes out and saves the season and the franchise for the next 10 years.
