Well, considering the M.A.S.H. unit the defense currently is, it was a much better game than it had a right to be.

I think the front office attempted to address the line issue. They weren't expecting DeCastro to pack it in on top of Pouncey. They drafted 2 lineman but again another questionable Tomlin decision promoting Klemm to be our O line coach. I'm all for bringing in young talent but considering how much of a drop off there was when Munchak left and Sarrett got promoted, to turn around and do the exact same thing with another coach that had only been an assistant when there were so many issues to address is simply rolling the dice and hoping. Same thing with Canada. Canada was OC for 7 different college teams and none of them were all that upset when he moved on and no one was clamoring for him to take over somewhere. Not sure exactly what was so amazing about him that Tomlin wanted him in charge of our offense.
Yes. It's easy to plan for the future when you lose your call player for the defense with a career ending injury, you have to give away your star WR for a box of Cracker Jack because he's kookoocachoo, your star RB sits out for an entire year because that's makes him more money in Lev math class, and your HOF center retires a year before you expect him to. And that's only 4 of the plethora of unexpected things this front office has had to deal with while their HOF QB is getting long in the tooth and his backup has fallen short of the sticks.
