Perhaps the third time will be the charm for Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle.
For the third time in the past 15 years, the Pittsburgh Penguins — the team Mr. Lemieux and Mr. Burkle rescued out of bankruptcy in 1999 — appear to be on the verge of being sold.
But if history is any guide, there is no done deal until, well, there’s a done deal. The Penguins icon and his billionaire co-owner have been down this road before, only to see potential sales unravel or fizzle out.
I haven't heard that it's official yet.
