Ben is trash period and anyone not seeing it is blind!
Another amazing thread...
They live to fight another day. Hopefully this is wake up call not to take ANY team lightly
as far as QB yes they need a new one next year - that’s not a news bulletin
They also need to improve the o line and need a DB or two
What we need is an offensive scheme to get a WR open more that 3x a game. Yes Ben misses some passes he shouldn’t, but all those check downs are because our WRs are covered and the OL can’t hold up long enough. Kind of reminds me of Arians time, where all the WRs would need 5s for their routes to develop and the OL was only good to block for 4s and Ben was getting sacked every other snap. I don’t blame the OL as much because at this point it is what’s we have. But we need to have a better scheme, period.

The scheme isn't that bad. It's an offense designed to control time of possession, which is what this offense is most capable of and they are improving in that aspect. They just need to execute better from top to bottom. From Ben to the Oline to the WRs.
They're not going to change the scheme up and magically start hanging 30 on teams. The scheme ran has every bit to do with our personnel, IMO.
How long does it take an Oline to gel? We knew we were in for a rough start of the season, no matter what. While we don't look to be world beaters this year, there is the hope of significant hardening of the line, and a return to more physical play, something our last crew didn't always give us. Combine that with a couple of serious offensive weapons and the ability to pick great WRs just about every draft, and we are not glass half empty as a team. Especially for fans of the classic ground game style of play.
It may be the final lap in the Roethlisberger era, but we are still 5 and 3 with what they have to work with, and should have a chance to get better before they hit the rough stretch of the season.
